Avalanche was an Atari arcade game released in 1978 that was never ported to any home systems back in the day.  It did, however, inspire games like Kaboom! for the Atari 2600.  Here is an image of the arcade game:

In 2007, Champ Games created a home version of the game that we all forgot about (even I did and I posted in the thread!) and now, 12 years later, it is being brought to the light again as it will be seeing a cart release!  You can check the Atari Age thread here:  Avalanche.  A binary can be found there for download.  Champ is looking to make some improvements to the game before release.  Check out an image of the game as it stands now.

Here comes more.  My wife is afraid that I'm dying or something.  (I'm not).  More pictures and info available upon request.  I'm putting them here first for you all, but they'll go to ebay in a few weeks.  All of these items work, and I'll test again before any deal is made.  I'm sorry about the lack of prices -- I will remedy that over time.  Feel free to make offers.  Most likely I'll use ebay average "sold" price and subtract a little from that.  There's a lot here, and I have not had time to fully price out stuff.
Two pong machines.  A Unisonic Tournament 2000 complete in box (with gun), and a National Semiconductor pong.  Make me an offer.

An Atari 800 (asking $75).  48k.  Very good condition.  Shipping will be 'spensive on this one.  And a Rana 100 disk drive for Atari (make offer)

A Commodore 64C in very nice condition (asking $100)

A Commodore Plus/4 - CIB in excellent condition (make offer)

** INTV2 is pending.  Atari adapter is SOLD **

A BUNCh of handheld electronic games.

These ones are new (not classic) retro versions.  New in box.

As mentioned elsewhere in the forums, I'm cleaning out stuff I no longer need.  I'll put it here first for my friends here.  Please PM me if interested.  Keep checking back, as I'll be adding more stuff over the next month or so.  Trades are fine too, as are offers.
First up...Pitfall 2 for Atari 2600.  I'm asking $15 shipped in the USA.  It's got some label wear.  I'd rate the condition 6 out of 10.  ** SOLD **

With the assistance of a 16 oz. can of Orange Fanta.  I like how this game keeps adding new enemy types as you progress. Even about this far into the game, they reveal a new one: little spinning squares that zip across the screen and hunt you down.

I'll make a post in the "For Sale" forum as I make a pile of stuff to sell to give you all a chance to buy before I go to ebay.

I though of another factor:  age.  I turned 50 last year.  That, coupled with cleaning out my father''s estate, and also having a few friends pass away really got me into thinking about minimalizing.

While I don't have any valuable games, I HAVE been in this kind of position with another type of collectible.
I like to collect a variety of things besides video games. (In fact, I probably collect too many things, but that's another story...)
I'm an avid reader, and I like to collect antique books. Quite a few years ago I got my hands on an interesting old book called "Ver Beck's Book of Bears." Now, I didn't think too much about it. It had really nice illustrations, was a pretty old book, but didn't seem too special.
A few years ago, though, I got curious and decided to look it up online. Low and behold it turned out to be an exceedingly rare volume worth up to $400 or more. That's a good deal of money for a book. I like it far too much to sell, though. It has more value to me than the money.
I imagine if I found any truly rare, valuable video games, it would be a similar case, and depend entirely on whether I like the game more than the money.

I've done the same thing! I also stopped drinking anything with sugar almost two years ago. I had gotten into a habit of drinking too much of this stuff and I started feeling not-so-great. I was noticing a little numbness in my pinky fingers in bed and my body was telling me that I wasn't eating healthy foods. So I gave it all up. That numbness went away immediately. For a while I had cravings for some of these drinks but after a month they quickly dissipated. I've always looked at soft drinks the way a lot of other people look at beer, I love to taste different drinks and sample what else is out there. When I first built the forums I lived right next to Disney World and spent a lot of time hanging out and going to dinner at EPCOT, I'd always stop into the Coca-Cola pavilion and sample all of the little drinks from around the world. Only twice in the past two years have I granted myself a pass to have a soft drink; once was to taste Faygo Red Pop when we were discussing it in nosweargamer's Faygo review thread here, and this past 4th of July I had an IBC Rootbeer which although I've always loved those, suddenly tasting it after almost 2 years felt like I was drinking a bottle of brown sugar and carbonated syrup. Which I was.
Now I mostly only drink Water and Unsweetened Iced Tea. Sometimes I mix it up. San Pellegrino is a carbonated mineral water that I drink maybe twice a week. (Of course because it's still just water, it's 0 calories, 0g sugar. It's water with a punch.) I used to hate that stuff until my tastes changed, now it's like a little gift I give myself every day. I also like Fiji water. When I buy the big boxes with 6 water jugs at Sam's Club I always buy natural spring water as opposed to filtered water, the natural spring water has natural minerals in the water. I brought this up recently with a friend of mine who is a physician, she told me that in her opinion filtered water was essentially "dead water" as it had filtered all of the benefits out of it, and the minerals in natural spring water were beneficial.
At this point I've entirely changed my diet. I rarely get fast food, I make better choices with food and try to eat less processed foods and make more food myself. I try to swim 50-100 laps a day six days a week, ride my bike, walk, run, lift weights, whatever it takes. It's been good.
This would make an excellent discussion in the Off Topic forum.

An update!  Here's a picture of the old girl on my shelf.  And also, a picture of the re-fixed axle.  The original repair broke after a few forays onto the carpet.  But now it's exoxy and a metal clip and it seems to be holding much better.

Oh man, I would have loved that trailer and manual.  I'm sure you made somebody very happy with your generosity, Willie!  If you ever have good stuff you no longer want, I'd be happy to pay for shipping to Oregon.
Meanwhile, after a few hours of playing, my fixed front axle gave way and cracked in the same spot.  So I've re-glued with a fabricated metal clip over the wound.  I'm going to let it cure over a few days before I put er back together.
    Merry Christmas everyone!

The bulb is fixed now too.  Turns out it's the same type of bulb you'd find in a penlight.  I had a few spares once I took the time to look.

I'd add in one more factor:  fear.  If you have something that you are afraid to use or touch....get rid of it.  A collection is meant to be enjoyed in my opinion.  If it's too valuable, I can't enjoy it, so it goes.
And one more:  dust.  If it just collects dust and isn't enjoyed...give it up.  Similar to fear, but a touch different.

I stopped drinking soda entirely about a year ago.  Don't miss it at all.  Unsweet iced tea or water are my main choices now.  If I'm at a McD's that doesn't have tea, I'll to that Sprite/Orange mix that they have, which I think is delicious.  Don't consider me judgy about soda..  I have really bad bones, and soda isn't good for someone like me who is getting up in age.  I have no issue with others enjoying it, and heck I'll have one on some occasions.  It's the phosphoric acid that's bad for bones, and some sodas don't contain that at all.

I remember wanting one of these as a kid. Forgot about it until this post and Willies video. My girls just a programing Robotics thing sponsored by LEGO for Girl Scouts this past weekend. I looked up ebay for a few and I amy pick up one of the cleaner $25 "untested" ones to see if I can get one working too.

Thanks so much for posting this. Looking great BTW.

Cleaning complete.  Re-assembly complete.  Should we take a poll about whether it works?

Naw!  It works!  It works nicely.  The only thing wrong at this moment is that the "laser" light bulb is burnt out.  I'll need to find a new one, and it's kind of a strange bulb.  The repaired front axle appears to be fine.  I am stoked!

Update.  This thing is really dirty.  I opened it up, and replaced the battery connector.  On/off switch needed cleaning.  Now, it turns on, but I'm not sure what any of the buttons do.  I guess I'll have to read the manual.
At this point, I have everything drying.  All pieces have been washed.  Including carefully cleaning the circuit board.  I had to re-solder the speaker wires and glue the speaker down.  Once everything is dry, I'll put it all back together and hope that it works.
By the way, it uses 1 9V battery and 4 "D" cells.
