  1. My friend's dad gave me his old Apple IIc. It has the monitor and lots of software.
  2. Hey, I thought you all would enjoy the genre known as Vaporwave. It's basically a genre dedicated to making you feel like you are listening to it on a cassette, either in the 80s or 90s or in the distant future. It uses heavy sampling of 80s funk, pop music, and elevator music slowed down and edited. It's generally mixed with 80s and 90s-esque visuals. Some use heavier sampling than others, but it all stays pretty much the same that it uses sampling (except for a few cases). It's essentially the "underground punk" equivalent of electronic music. Thought it's much more peaceful. It has multiple sub-genres like Future Funk and Mallsoft. I think it's something you guys would really enjoy listening too. Here's some links to some albums to show you what I mean. https://blankbanshee.bandcamp.com/album/blank-banshee-0 https://virtualmachine.bandcamp.com/album/myriad-plaza https://ecovirtual.bandcamp.com/album/atmospheres-1 https://keatscollective.bandcamp.com/album/hit-vibes
  3. Went to see him last summer on his "Mandatory Tour". One of the best nights of my life.
  4. I went to a Radio Shack today that we ran into when we were out of town, made me remember why I loved them so much. Always people talking about what they are building or how to build something. It made me remember when I would go in there to get snap kits and podcasting equipment when I was younger (that was like 4 years ago, but still)
  5. This is what the Retro VGS should have been. We know who the team is. We can trust it I'm guessing.
  6. The 2600 is alive and well because it is really cheap to buy for. lol
  7. As a guy who does filmmaking on this forum, I'm going to put my 2 cents in on this conversation. DaVinci Resolve is built for color grading footage, so it's not that great for actually editing the footage. It's more for filmmakers than YouTube vloggers. You can get HitFilm 4 Express for free and it has almost as much functionality as Adobe products, but it's pretty resource intensive and you might have to take an afternoon to figure out how to use it (it's pretty user friendly, there's just so much you can do with it) https://hitfilm.com/express/ They made this with the free version (of course all of the VFX and 3D models were all made in other programs, but putting it all into the shot and doing clean up and everything was done in HitFilm):
  8. It's just a raspberry pi with a fancy case and i/o ports. You could make that without too much computer knowledge for $120, some Legos, and some time. It's pretty cool though.
  9. Welcome to the forums I love the Beatles too. Have a few albums on vinyl. Welcome!
  10. I haven't been active too much recently, but I definitely check in at least 3 times a week to see what's up. This community was really helpful in kickstarting my retro collection. I now have many systems and have spread that collection to audio equipment. This community is the NICEST online community. None better. It's well moderated and small enough to make it manageable. Thanks for the great community guys!
  11. I bought my jr. from him. Great guy and reasonably priced items.
  12. I'm loving this show so far. It reminds me of Super 8 a lot. Gonna watch episode 3 today probably. Netflix is working on some great things right now. The Death Note movie, A Series of Unfortunate Events, MST3K (That was announced just last night), and all the Marvel stuff coming from them. I can't wait.
  13. One good thing about the Retro VGS, I found my way here through the facebook page when someone (I think it was Dan) commented about the site.

Nice, everything has a reason :)

  14. I just watched that movie recently. I liked it. I love John Hughes' movies.
  15. I feel that the Coleco company is genuine, though, if they didn't care about their products or customers, they wouldn't have done that. Yes, they could have done better, but at least they care about their brand name unlike ANOTHER company I know *COUGH*ATARI*COUGH*
  16. Coleco seems to be a great company and hope to buy their products in the future.
  17. I was just in the musical Wizard of Oz, so expect Wizard of Oz references for the next month or two.
  18. Sorry I've been inactive recently. I'm getting done with a musical that I was in and school was crazy for a bit, but I SHOULD be active again, but who knows what will come up next.

  19. I love how Archive.org is doing this kind of stuff.
  20. Agreed. My video was supposed to be my final opinion. I do hope that someone will see that there was a following for this and will actually make something like this, you know, someone with actual money and talent. The only reason why something like MST3K got 6 mil on their Kickstarter was due to their following before the Kickstarter. Something is likely NOT going to get over 1 mil if it is a project out of thin air without substance. http://www.polygon.com/2016/3/5/11166982/coleco-chameleon-controversy-kickstarter-indiegogo-toy-fair
  21. https://youtu.be/8PJX0nHWXpo I GOT THE PROTOTYPE GUYZ! THE RETRO VG.. *COUGH* COLECO CHAMELEON PROTOTYPE! CHECK OUT MY VIDEO ABOUT IT!
