  1. Already got over 20 games for my Wii U.

  2. Guess who finally got a WiiU in 2019? That's right, this guy did.

(Yeah, I already have a Switch, but I wanted a WiiU, too.)

  3. Bear in mind, too, that in 1981 Kenner was also still knee deep in their lucrative licensing deal to produce Star Wars toys. It's entirely possible that some higher up at the company was looking for some way to expand their Star Wars license. I guarantee had this made it to market Star Wars games would've been slapped all over it.
  4. They said it would never release on a Nintendo console, but today, 22 years after it first debuted on the Sony Playstation, Final Fantasy VII has just released on the Nintendo Switch.

I'm really excited to finally get a chance to play this classic RPG for the first time ever.

  5. Reggie Fils-Aime is retiring as president of Nintendo of America this April.

Time for some fresh blood at Nintendo.

  6. I have that. It's great. Only downside is it doesn't save high scores. Later models do.
  7. I am SOOOO jealous of that Paper Mario. I have been coveting that game for years, but the prices it goes for online would make your eyes bleed.
  8. Today's Nintendo Direct had several surprises. I'm really looking forward to the Link's Awakening remake on Switch.

  9. My local Gamestop has a pre-owned WiiU that I've had my eyes on for several weeks now, so I've decided to save up enough to buy it. I've got almost half the asking price of $129.99 now, and hope to have the other half by March.

I really want to get into the WiiU Virtual Console before Ninty eventually pulls the plug on it.

Oh, I already have a Switch, lol. I bought it on sale from Toys R Us last year when it was going out of business.

It was only 5% off, unfortunately, but hey, a discount is a discount.

To my understanding, the Wii U no longer has online support including the virtual console.  Any prepurchased content, even by a previous owner, is no longer downloadable.  Nintendo turned off their servers for the DS/DSi/Wii/Wii U consoles at the end of last month.  However, I'm not sure about the Wii U (I've thought about one, too) but there are some software modifications that can be done to a Wii to get it back online.

I got lucky with my used Wii as it mysteriously came with two digital games...Tetris Party and Super Mario World (SNES).  I still have them and they still work, just no online support.  I was using Netflix on my Wii on a SDTV but even Netflix said it would no longer work once Nintendo pulled the plug.

WiiU is still online as of now. In fact, they released a NEW game on the WiiU Eshop just last week. Shocking, I know.

  10. Sadly, I have no TV again, so no console gaming for the foreseeable future.

  11. Guess who just got himself an SNES Classic Mini!

Nice man! Enjoy! Now I'd personally mod it and put all the SNES ROMS on it but that's me lol.

Congrats Lee! I hope you have lots of fun with it!

  12. I'd be interested in your Intellivision stuff, man. I'm still trying to build my collection.
  13. My goal? Finally get a couple games for my Wonderswan Color, so it can stop gathering dust on my shelf. Also get a Sega Master System, or N64.
  14. While I don't have any valuable games, I HAVE been in this kind of position with another type of collectible. I like to collect a variety of things besides video games. (In fact, I probably collect too many things, but that's another story...) I'm an avid reader, and I like to collect antique books. Quite a few years ago I got my hands on an interesting old book called "Ver Beck's Book of Bears." Now, I didn't think too much about it. It had really nice illustrations, was a pretty old book, but didn't seem too special. A few years ago, though, I got curious and decided to look it up online. Low and behold it turned out to be an exceedingly rare volume worth up to $400 or more. That's a good deal of money for a book. I like it far too much to sell, though. It has more value to me than the money. I imagine if I found any truly rare, valuable video games, it would be a similar case, and depend entirely on whether I like the game more than the money.
