  1. So, I have to rebuild almost my entire collection from scratch. Willing to make deals and I'll pay you guys through Paypal for whatever you can offer. This will take me many years.
  2. I hate to ask for handouts, but any help would be appreciated.
  3. My collection was not insured, though, so I don't think I can ever replace any of it.
  4. I guess we are, don't know. My stupid brother started a garbage fire, and now we've lost everything. It's my worst nightmare come true. I know I must be in shock, cause I'm all shaky. Also can't quit thinking about my destroyed collection. 9 years in the making, destroyed in an hour.
  5. Like it says. Total destruction. My entire collection is destroyed. Everything my family owned, in fact. We are homeless.
  6. My house is burning down. Everybody is safe, but my entire videogame collection is destroyed.

  7. Dude, you still got those posters available?
  8. So, Dad and I were out in town running an errand, when we spotted a thrift store we'd never seen before. (I'm assuming it must be fairly new.) Went in, didn't find much at first. I was looking for video games, only found a couple PS2 titles, some old PC games, and one single PSP game. Also found a USB floppy disk drive from Sony, which I snapped up. Anyway, we were about to leave, and I'd brought everything to the counter, when I suddenly remembered I hadn't checked the toy section. I go over to the toy shelf, spotted FIVE Easy Bake Ovens (jeez), and was about to go back to the counter, when I looked down at the floor. There it was... A NINTENDO 64. I couldn't believe my eyes! I grabbed it up, ran to the two cashiers, who was ringing up my other stuff, and said, "This, too! I gotta have it!" The younger cashier and I talked about Goldeneye and Mario Kart. The N64 cost a grand total of $4, included the power brick, AND IT WORKS. Now I just need a controller.
  9. Stopped by a new thrift store in town, walked out with a $4 N64!

  10. Hey guys, if anybody here gets METV, tonight at 10 EST, 9 CST there's an episode of a show called "Collector's Call" in which a video game collector shows off his massive collection, which includes such rarities as a Sega Neptune prototype.

Figured you guys would be interested.

Thank you @LeeJ07 I watch MeTV all the time! Unfortunately tonight at 9PM EST I'll be watching History Channel, they have a documentary called "Game Changers" about the history of video games, including a lot of Atari and Atari people:

With deepest sympathy...sorry for your loss.  I felt lost when I lost my mother.  She was only 40.  I had to find strength in my sadness.  What snapped me out of it was doing things that would make my mother proud of me.  Maybe that will help you later on down the road.

Prayers sent out to you and your family in your time of need.

So sorry to hear Lee. I lost my Mom quite a few years ago. I always made her laugh when she was mad at me about something, I miss that.

Prayers your way & sharing tears

  12. Well... Now I'm in a bad mood, that's likely to last for the rest of the week.

Time to turn that frown upside down Lee 😀

  13. Dammit... I missed this... And I'm really upset, too. I heven't been online in a couple weeks because Mom was in the hospital. *sighhhhh*
  14. Already got over 20 games for my Wii U.

  15. Guess who finally got a WiiU in 2019? That's right, this guy did.

(Yeah, I already have a Switch, but I wanted a WiiU, too.)

  16. Bear in mind, too, that in 1981 Kenner was also still knee deep in their lucrative licensing deal to produce Star Wars toys. It's entirely possible that some higher up at the company was looking for some way to expand their Star Wars license. I guarantee had this made it to market Star Wars games would've been slapped all over it.
  17. They said it would never release on a Nintendo console, but today, 22 years after it first debuted on the Sony Playstation, Final Fantasy VII has just released on the Nintendo Switch.

I'm really excited to finally get a chance to play this classic RPG for the first time ever.

  18. Reggie Fils-Aime is retiring as president of Nintendo of America this April.

Time for some fresh blood at Nintendo.

  19. I have that. It's great. Only downside is it doesn't save high scores. Later models do.
  20. I am SOOOO jealous of that Paper Mario. I have been coveting that game for years, but the prices it goes for online would make your eyes bleed.
  21. Today's Nintendo Direct had several surprises. I'm really looking forward to the Link's Awakening remake on Switch.

  22. My local Gamestop has a pre-owned WiiU that I've had my eyes on for several weeks now, so I've decided to save up enough to buy it. I've got almost half the asking price of $129.99 now, and hope to have the other half by March.

I really want to get into the WiiU Virtual Console before Ninty eventually pulls the plug on it.

Oh, I already have a Switch, lol. I bought it on sale from Toys R Us last year when it was going out of business.

It was only 5% off, unfortunately, but hey, a discount is a discount.

To my understanding, the Wii U no longer has online support including the virtual console.  Any prepurchased content, even by a previous owner, is no longer downloadable.  Nintendo turned off their servers for the DS/DSi/Wii/Wii U consoles at the end of last month.  However, I'm not sure about the Wii U (I've thought about one, too) but there are some software modifications that can be done to a Wii to get it back online.

I got lucky with my used Wii as it mysteriously came with two digital games...Tetris Party and Super Mario World (SNES).  I still have them and they still work, just no online support.  I was using Netflix on my Wii on a SDTV but even Netflix said it would no longer work once Nintendo pulled the plug.

WiiU is still online as of now. In fact, they released a NEW game on the WiiU Eshop just last week. Shocking, I know.

  23. Guess who just got himself an SNES Classic Mini!

Nice man! Enjoy! Now I'd personally mod it and put all the SNES ROMS on it but that's me lol.
