Here's gameplay only of a game I thought would be perfect on the VCS: 80s Overdrive. Throwback arcade racing on a stock 8GB VCS in ChimeraOS.

Out now! I will add that we are lucky to get this on the VCS. It was touch and go initially and a VCS port wasn't guaranteed. If you own a VCS, show Atari they made the right call and pick it up.

Casual gameplay of Jr. Pac-Man for the 7800. This fantastic homebrew by Bob DeCrescenzo (AKA Pac-Man Plus) faithfully recreates the 1983 GCC developed arcade game. I love this version. It's even better than the official 2600 port. Played with a Trooper because the CX-40+ wasn't up to the task. I really want a gated 4-way stick for this and the other Pac games.

What I like about the VS is that certain cart combo's unlock a game. Like if you have Atari Collection 1 & 2 inserted, Dark Chambers 7800 becomes playable. It's a fun bonus for collecting them all! 😉

Here's a great article on secret games & unlocakables on the Evercade VS. The 9 "secret" games will always be available from the console once unlocked. Insomnia had me watching the newest episode before 3 am. Without getting into spoilers, I'll just say that I really liked episode 4.

I've seen comments from folks that waited for the black limited edition EXP who are upset that the color on the new model appears to closely resemble the LE model. Also, as @socrates63 said, some folks were hoping for a more premium update or even peripherals- like a joystick- and are underwhelmed by the news. Its great for new folks just getting into the ecosystem. Not a lot here for you if you already have a VS or EXP.

4527. A slight improvement. I am still hung up on Level 7. I find the graphics to be a bit less garish with the background off and the CRT filters on.

Also, ICYMI, the Series V Giveaway announcement posted earlier today. Since this is a 12 month challenge, I wanted to do something special.

One of the things I appreciate about the game is that you can access up to your last unlocked level to figure out problem points before making your next high score run. Level 5 was really giving me a hard time at first. Now it's Level 7.
