  1. The Man Who Solved Jeopardy
  2. The standards that you listed & now Ready Player One. 😀
  3. Today's episode is James' 14th game. After today's episode, he is inching closer to AVERAGING what the former single-game record was ($77,000). It truly is amazing. Oh & to keep this discussion relevant to the forum, he dropped a Super Tecmo Bowl reference last week. 😀
  4. I'm thinking of some fun, creative ways to get rid of this stuff & be fair about it. Stay tuned. 😀 Plus, I believe the amount of stuff will grow exponentially, possibly including some consoles.
  5. The guy is incredible. "Ho-hum" rounds for him would have been all-time great rounds a month ago.
  6. Sneak peek! I’ll post a list & video in the next couple of days.
  7. I definitely spend more time in the forums than playing classic games. I suppose it will be easier for me now that my room is nearly set up & I'll have easy access to my collection, but most of my time is spent playing modern games.
  8. James now owns the top 5 spots in the Highest Single Game Winnings category after his first 12 matches. https://www.jeopardy.com/contestant-zone/hall-of-fame
  9. Not necessary at all pal! I’ll just be happy if all the stuff goes to good homes!
  10. Maybe I’ll post everything I have to get rid of let everyone pick what they’d like first before sending everything out as a junk box. Hopefully there will be stuff you can use!!
  11. I’ll make a list. It would all be commons. I’m going to pare my collection down to the games I had as a kid & for those, I’d like to have a CIB collection. (Easier to display & cooler 😀)
  12. Sooooo... I finally have my game room/man cave/hideout nearly completed. I’m unpacking all of my stuff from the move two years ago & guess what? I need to purge more. I’m going to have a junk box or two of 2600 games, some Genesis games, more manuals & other stuff. I’m sure there will be some NES games too once I get to that box. Just like last time, I’m not looking for anything in return. HOWEVER, if anyone has any CIB 2600 games (that I’ll list in a separate post), that would be awesome. 😀 I’ll update this post as I keep unpacking & sorting. I just wanted to give you all a heads up. 👍
  13. Agreed, those are very cool to focus on. Stumps from former trees, etc. I have access to a lot of old photos that I’d like to compare to the present day.
  14. I forgot to mention that the house on the far left in the top image was either demo’ed or burned down years ago. I’ve never laid eyes on it. I have a good story about the house on the left! When I was young staying next door, the woman who lived there made THE BEST vanilla milkshakes. She was an author & you may recall my story I shared with @VicSage about a woman who was an old-time radio personality. http://fishersisland.net/memoriam-patricia-hosley-kibbe/
  15. Thanks!! I’ll attempt to keep updating this thing. 😀
  16. As a young kid spending time on Fishers Island (my current home), I was fascinated with the natural history of the island. The main focus of my attention was on the area of the island that used to be the home of Fort H.G. Wright. Fort Wright was part of the coastal defense network & protected the eastern part of Long Island Sound. It was active from 1898 through 1947. I loved playing in and around the gun pits (the cannons were long gone) and other buildings, including lookout towers, etc. I REALLY became interested when I saw old photos and postcards of the same buildings I saw now back when they were in their heyday. Since that time, I’ve collected those old postcards & photos. A good friend of mine gave me a photo of Officers Row (the top photo in the below comparison). Officers Row is extra special to me as the first house I ever stayed in on Fishers was one of these houses. After the fort closed, the US government sold off many buildings at reasonable prices, with the condition that they must be restored (or at least made presentable). A decade of neglect had many of the buildings in disrepair. Sadly, a lot of buildings fell to the wrecking ball. My father’s brother in law & his brother purchased one of the houses (located on the right side in the photos below). By the time I was born in 1973, the house was restored & this is where we stayed when we visited. In fact, one of the very first memories I have, period, was sleeping in a crib in this house. Anyway, here’s a comparison of a photo taken sometime in the 1910s and taken from the same spot today, April 19, 2019. And if you want to know what my uncle’s house looks like on the inside, here you go: https://shuttersandsails.com/listing/parade-grounds-cottage/ (my father’s brother-in-law ended up selling his share to his brother & moved on to bigger & better houses on Fishers (stories for future blog posts), but his brother (my uncle by marriage) still owns the house today.) **I forgot to mention that the house on the far left in the top image was either demo’ed or burned down years ago. I’ve never laid eyes on it. I have a good story about the house that's straight-ahead in the photos. When I was young staying next door, the woman who lived there made THE BEST vanilla milkshakes. She was an author & you may recall my story I shared with @VicSage about a woman who was an old-time radio personality. http://fishersisland.net/memoriam-patricia-hosley-kibbe/
  17. I love the Gonk droid! Nice job! Impressive!
  18. Great take sir. Yes, his reaction is certainly a bit extreme but I’d be lying if I told you I didn’t get a little teary-eyed when I saw it for the first time as well. I knew there’s a crap ton of SW being released but a huge part of me is still amazed that I’m seeing new stuff here in 2019. It brings me right back to the early 80s. People that give this guy a hard time suck, period.
