When a brick progresses to the last row at the bottom of the screen (which places it very close to your paddle), it will stay there for a specified amount of time, and then disappear. If you hit such a brick squarely in the center -- before it disappears -- you may receive special bonus points to increase your score!
I think I received a "special bonus" but will take a few more games to verify my suspicions as to what it was.

I think I only ever played level 1 on "b"eginner difficulty BITD, mostly 'cause my game selector switch was broked (I did keep a butter knife on top of the TV)
To get to level 16, I held both the game selector switch & the game start switch down and it cycled through the levels super quick ! (like Space Invaders)

Anyways I used the Starplex controller as I was getting phantom-hyperspace shots using the Wico thing on my rig. I was also getting unwanted hyperspace jumps with a rebuilt cx-40 (with cx-10 clicky board inside ) I could have managed with that but I wasn't trying to make "The Kessel Run"

Yeah it looks like the only video posted. I thought about leaving the room like you had if there was an undesirable enemy pattern. My last game , I cleared the room and exited and the hallway enemy was right on top of me, I couldn't sneak back in the room 😠 ... it did give me a few moments before I died but still 😠
All the images of score are photographs of screens as opposed to a screen capture if you were playing say in Stella on a PC

That is an interesting fact of this variation that rather quickly more bricks arrive and don't have to cycle around the screen to hit "That last brick"
