AlamoAtari got a reaction from Jop in What are the real facts behind Pac-Man’s 2600 development?
I was forced as a kid to play my Atari on a black and white tv. My parents fell for the rumors about screen burn. I tried to tell them that it only happened when you play a single game for hours on end. Never got to play in color until the 90s.

Howard Warshaw was a very innovative programmer. It was the short deadline that ruined the game. I don't think that it's a bad game, it's a very frustrating game that can be difficult to play on the normal setting.

Was this thing perpetuated because of the burning that happened on arcade units? I remember the tvs at my work had a permanent burn from the CNN ticker being on almost 24 7 so I think it's possible, but you got to play a lot of the same game in order to do it. My parents were like we spent all this money on a tv, not going to have it ruined over a game.

I appreciate the work it's awesome! I have little faith in Jarjar Abrams ruining all of our beloved childhood franchises. He's the harbinger of death for childhood dreams. Each one of his movies premiers is one of the seven seals being broken. I could go on and on...

Thanks for all the kind words guys. It's a work in progress for sure. I mean, does anyone ever 'finish' their game room?
Thanks. I'm a Trekker from way, way, way back! I liked it until J.J. Abrams NUKED it.
The mirror "Omega" symbol was designed and created for me by a guy (on another forum) that did the TI Logo.

AlamoAtari got a reaction from LeeJ07 in The ColecoVison Flashback Megathread
I like the idea of them as well, but I think that they are more interested in profits than satisfying the consumer. That is why they didn't bother to fix the controller ports, it was better to leave them where they were

I've been on the fence about these flashback systems, I was wondering if any plans for a mega flashback system, retron5 esk where you can choose the platform, but of course being able to play carts you own in the system as well. But that train has probably left the station because of how poor sales went.

Whoever thought of that crap needs a summary execution. I know several people who had to suffer from having to play on a black and white tv. I think that someone thought oh it's a great way to sell more tvs, but the pain and suffering.
