Retro Play got a reaction from AtariBrian in Top 25 Retro Games to Play on Halloween!
With Halloween coming around the corner, I sat back and though to myself, what classic games would I like to play, at Halloween time, to ad to the spirit of the season! Here is what I came up with!

There are lots of games for each console, but too many to cover. These games are the most popular.

According to PriceCharting.com, Red Sea Crossing is valued at almost $14,000 for a loose cartridge! This game is really starting to climb in price and popularity!

For the past year or so, I've been keeping an eye on Mystique/Playaround games and they are starting to get expensive. A "CIB" game can cost about $100.00 to as much as $400.00. Would anyone collect these and think that the prices will go up? The games are fairly collectable it seems.

Why is Realsports Baseball not on this list?  I'd play that over any of these.

I recently asked what were Atari I/O members' top 10 favorite 5200 games.  Number one and two are secured but there is a rank battle for the remaining positions.  This poll is to help determine the ranking of the next four games for the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th positions.  The number of votes per game will determine the position of those games.  The last one will go to the honorable mention section.

Thanks and good luck to the games!  To be fair I might not vote on these.  Wouldn't that make me a bit biased?

I scored each game mentioned by how many times they were mentioned.  RS Baseball got one point.  A few only got one point.  I'll give it a while longer as I am hoping that other members would jump in on the top 10 list.  I've never played RS Baseball or any sports games on the 5200 so I can't comment on any of them.  And that is one game I can not find anywhere.  I'll see what happens in the votes.

Yeah but I'd put it behind Air Raid in the #2 spot for rarest Atari VCS/2600 title.

That site doesn't even list Air Raid, which has sold for far more than that, more than once.

Sorry to "ONE OF US" about this but DragonStomper for me too It gets the closest to an RPG or D&D game and is just very satisfying. Bonus points that one of the enemies are monkeys

Followed by Adventure then SwordQuest: Fireworld.

I just can't get into Dark Chambers on the 2600 with the 7800 version right there. My son and I have spent a few hours playing DC together on the ProSystem, so there's that bond going on too for that version.

I would put Secret Quest on there if I had spent more time with it. I get what they were trying to do but not a huge fan of the symbol system. Still, Zelda in space was kind of a cool idea (once again, wish they would have done a 7800 version too)

These titles look great and a great addition to the 2600 library.

Yeah, not being able to save on older games like these makes them time-prohibitive for gameplay.
Same with Riddle of the Sphinx for me, which I love but am unable to commit an entire afternoon like back in the day.
That's why the first golden cart Zelda was so wonderful, and made the NES a strong contender in the next-gen console wars.

If Dragonstomper had a save feature, it would have been one of the best games of all time.

I remember really liking it, but got very frustrated with the time commitment involved -- yet no real idea on how to win. You'd buy a "Stun" spell that did nothing...that type of thing. Another nice addition would be a hit-bar display for the dragon.

I did as a kid, Rick...but I haven't put the time in it as an adult.   There's a trick to it by stocking up on the right stuff before you go in the cave part, but I dont remember specifics.

Adventure is obviously wonderful too, but still very basic.

Have any of you guys ever defeated the dragon on Dragonstomper?  I had the game back in the day, and liked it.  But never defeated it.  Plus it took a long time to make it to the dragon only to get defeated pretty quickly.  I just found it frustrating after a while, but I completely understand the appeal.
