The first ever Adventure Game Fan Fair is being held this weekend (Fri-Sun). I was only able to attend the first half of Saturday. The event web site is here. The event primarily served as a reunion of folks who worked at Sierra On-line, including the founders Ken and Roberta Williams. I have always been a fan of adventure games and was excited to attend when I found out about it a few months ago. It's an event that gathers fans of a single genre of gaming. How cool is that?

All the guests were very generous with their time. I can't believe I even got a chance to chat with Ken and Roberta Williams, Lori and Cory Cole, and someone from Dynamix (the most underrated studio ever) whose name I can't remember. Everyone made themselves very available outside the panels.

I picked up some stuff from Al Lowe, Guys From Andromeda, Tom from Canvas Quest, Jim Ferguson, Bruce Brenneise, KQ vinyl from someone whose name I can't remember, and a GK vinyl from Robert Holmes.

My most prized swag from the event is the event passport-looking booklet that contained the schedule and information on guests. I used it as an autograph book and got it signed by several people. I wish I could have gotten Jane Jensen but I missed her while I was standing line to meet with the Williams. Handing out the passport booklet was a great idea.

Awesome event and venue -- I hope there will be another one.
