Eligibility

This is a Club VCS Exclusive Challenge. All Club VCS players are welcome!

Play Rules

This is a cross-platform challenge.  Play on a VCS, 7800, 2600+, or emulator of choice! Choosing which controller to play on is part of formulating your strategy. Enhancements, rewinds and hacked versions of this game are not allowed.

Difficulty Level

We are playing Dragon's Havoc for the Atari VCS, Atari 7800 and compatible platforms!  Play in "1 Player" mode, select your dragon of choice, and play until game over for the highest score!

Fair Play

Your integrity is everything. Players should play fairly, be honest, and have fun! Falsified scores will result in your immediate removal from the site. It goes without saying that we will not allow cheats, hacks, cartridge frying, enhancements, rewinds, deceitful photo manipulation, subterfuge, or any other unfair advantage. Everybody hates a cheater.

I will have to work to see if I can beat that score! I have a thought I want to see if others have a thought about:

I feel the game works best using a VCS modern due to its d-pad, so playing the game with a d-pad is the way to go. The game is kind of about being in lanes, and the accuracy and ability to accurately nudge lanes using a d-pad leads to longer games and higher scores. Thoughts?

Love how the game not only rewards accuracy, but punishes inaccuracy!

Edit: VCS 800 w/ Modern - control pad, definitely not stick!!

I see now you mentioned it too. For sure on the d-pad. The d-pad on the modern is pretty good, great maybe, but I wonder how it'd be using some kind of gamer usb thing.

I'd like to encourage @D.joe post this high score on the Scoreboard so we can make sure this Challenge continues on!

How did you like Dragon's Havoc? If the 7800 had more games of this quality in its retail life, would it have made a difference?  Sound off, armchair adventurers!
