MaximumRD
Was just playing a retro style browser game over there and it occurred to me, I wonder if anyone hasn't heard of this site? A nice alternative to many big commercial sites, figured I'd share for those who might not be aware! Title says it all, I've played dozens of selections over the years and best of all most are very low priced with an option to even get for FREE , obviously if you really enjoy a specific title consider supporting the developer. It's great because these developers don't work for the big companies may titles are very out of the box, original and of course inspired by many classic and retro style titles. Some can be played free right in your browser while others can be downloaded and played on your PC for free or for a small donation. Some Devs even offer ROM downloads of their modern titles for classic systems and handhelds! You will be spoiled for choice I assure you! They offer a variety of platforms Windows/Linux/MacOS/Android/Ios ! Here is a direct link to one particular Dev on there who is a pixel artisit slash dev with selections with a very retro feel: https://helpcomputer.itch.io/ Whatever your taste though, if you haven't heard of Itchio previously check it out and find some great games! https://itch.io/ Marco1019, socrates63 and RickR 2 1 Quote I am Rob aka MaximumRD aka OldSchoolRetroGamer and THIS is my world http://about.me/maximumrd "For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. Marco1019
I'm a big fan of itch.io and I have highlighted quite a number of games on my show. Here is a partial list with links included: Dragowfall (Win/Mac/Linux/Browser) - https://heracleum.itch.io/dragowfall It’s a combo of 3 games: Shadowfax + Pitfall! + Dragonfire, “all glued together to form a more intense chivalry-themed adventurous experience: upgrade your stats at shops, save damsels in distress, acquire knighthood, get married, choose between greed and Honour!”. This game was developed by Heracleum using PICO-8. Phoenix500 (Commodore Amiga) - https://jotd666.itch.io/phoenix500 A remake of the classic verical shooter. Lock 'n' Chase (Commodore 64) - https://lowcarb.itch.io/locknchase-c64 A remake of the classic arcade game which was also ported to the Intellivision and Atari 2600 (through M Network) way back in the day. On a related note, Luca Carminati (the developer behind LC Games) has developed several excellent remakes which are worth checking out. River Raid Reloaded (Commodore Amiga 500) - https://matze1887.itch.io/riverraidreloaded A small 128kb tribute to the original River Raid. The Curse of Rabenstein (Various) - https://8bitgames.itch.io/rabenstein A point-and-click adventure game by Stephen Vogt, available for many classic computers. There's also fanzines available for your reading pleasure, such as Between The Scanlines - https://betweenthescanlines.itch.io/ (Disclaimer: I am a Patreon supporter of Between The Scanlines which is inspired by '90s anime and video game fanzines.) socrates63 and MaximumRD 1

Awesome reply Marco thank you! People often think of Gog or steam, but I do think this site gets overlooked quite a bit, and I have enjoyed many games over the years there. So many offerings, especially for those of us who are into the retro scene. (Example: "Atari" or "C64" or even "MSX".) MaximumRD
