Do you have memories of the original Saturday Night Live? This is an insightful video about the early impact of Saturday Night Live on television and pop culture, and how its 1975 debut revolutionized the TV landscape and changed the face of TV comedy.

The video is from TJR, who is a YouTuber I’ve been following for about eight years. I’ve anyways enjoyed listening to his thoughts on music, movies, television and their impact on pop culture, he usually offers a unique perspective and puts thoughts into his commentary.

In this video, TJR explores the early days of SNL, the show’s irreverent humor, unique hosts, and unconventional musical guests, which gave the show an authentic feel and pushed boundaries for its time. He discusses the new feature film “Saturday Night” and compares the show’s edgy roots to its current mainstream status, recognizing SNL’s lasting legacy even as it evolves.

I loved classic SNL and find it a fascinating history to delve into. I hope you enjoy this trip back as much as I did!
