CrossBow Posted November 21 Report Posted November 21 I played the demo quite a bit during PRGE and was very impressed with it. This game I feel is better than Circus Convoy. It seems to have a more clear direction in game play and not mired down in the puzzle aspects like Circus Convoy is. Don't get me wrong, Circus Convoy is a great game! But it is possible to put yourself in unwinnable situations with the inventory items if you don't use them properly at the right times. And for folks that don't know this ahead of time it is a very frustrating experience overall. Plus those damn unicycles... I can NOT get past that level train car in that game and it was enough to put me off the game permanently at that point so I've put it back in the box and never touched it again. Casey's Gold on the other hand has secrets and such to find, but they aren't crucial to getting through the game levels so in that respect I like it much better. sramirez2008 and DegasElite 2 Quote See what I'm up to over at the Ivory Tower Collections: http://www.youtube.com/ivorytowercollections

I did achieve 82 stars which was good enough for a patch, but I was put off too. I didn’t want to watch a video in order to figure out how to get the remaining stars, that’s just not fun and not worth another patch. I didn’t get to play Casey’s Gold at PRGE, but did watch the demo at their booth. I’m going to wait for others to buy this one. I’ll be interested in your or anyone’s reaction once they’ve played through the game. DegasElite 1 Quote
DegasElite Posted November 21 Report Posted November 21 It's really great that David Crane, John Van Ryzin and the Kitchen brothers are still making great games. They certainly have some creative energy. We could learn something from these guys. Cool stuff. Thanks for posting. sramirez2008 and MistaMaddog 2 Quote

The basic gameplay of Casey's Gold is that you have to find the gold scattered among the train cars to collect and eventually take back to the gold car. I think I'm remembering that correctly. There are hidden bonus items to find for points, but again they aren't crucial as I don't recall any of the gold being hidden behind things and it was all clear where you needed to go and what you needed to do. There are some bonus towns between the train car levels where you look for stars I think and I believe these are timed. But again I'm pretty sure they were just bonus stages mostly to bulk up the points and provide some variety to the game play. The bonus towns were added in at Mr. Crane's request to give players more to do. I believe that is what Dan told me when I at their booth playing. I'm sure he and the others will go into much more detail this coming Sunday when ZPH interviews them for the release of the game.
