You'll be flying high if you can defeat the Red Baron. Hit as many planes as possible during the allotted time. Play game number 15 with the difficulty switch on b

  • Scourge of the skies    score 34
  • Flying Phantom            score 26
  • Blue Angel                    score 17

my first attempt was 22

I have the blue one!

Same here.  Only one though.  And I've never seen that green one.  The log book that is...not green ween.  (bad joke there.  I'm not going to apologize)

I have the blue log book too - have the green log book on my wish list.

I posted the links ....

there was a person who compiled an archive of manual in *.pdf format .... his links went dead so I re-hosted them

Ah, yes, I'm an idiot. Thank you!

So how were these distributed?

So how were these distributed?

I only got mine recently & not even remotely sure where

they have address labels on the back ...

a Google search revealed this ...

looks like a mail order thing with the warranty /survey card

I do have the warranty/ survey card. Thought about mailing it in just for the hell of it!

I have been tempted to mail in old offer cards just to see if I got any response.

"Sorry Buddy. This address is to Al's Pizza & Subs now. Here's a coupon for $5 off your next order."

I may have found a bug in the game (Combat: game 15 biplanes)

with the sprite moving horizontally across the upper part of the screen with ONLY the wing tip showing ... it is NEAR impossible to hit

also tried in Stella (really just to get the screen shot) ;)

EDIT: it is near impossible to hit ....

first I tried with double planes & was able to hit them (but again it wasn't easy)

This was a known bug back in the day.  I used to get a 1 point lead on my brother, then set up my plane like that.  And use the speed up/down to make sure he would miss.

yeah I was gonna ask if anyone did something like that .....

I generally liked the machine gun biplanes  ( #'s 17 & 18 )

for tanks I would get one track along side the right hand wall moving up , turn 2 clicks to the left & move forward to warp to other side of screen to draw first blood :D

I tried that same game number but I'm not sure which switch I was suppose to put on "B".  The plane was not "robot" controlled.  Help?

Combat was the pack-in game for the original Atari, it didn't have any artificial intelligence built in

the "robot plane" only changes direction after it has been shot ( normally a 2'nd player would control this and why I started this thread )

the difficulty switches operate the same side the controller is plugged into a=advanced (shorter shot distance) & b= beginner (long shot distance)
