Official "Classic Home Video Games" Thread

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

My name is Brett Weiss, and I write articles and books about video games.

You can read excerpts from several of my books by clicking on this link:

My 100 Greatest Console Video Games: 1977-1987 book is available at Barnes & Noble stores, and on Amazon. Check out the Retroist's review:

I also self-published a book called Retro Pop Culture A to Z: From Atari 2600 to Zombie Films:

I'm working on the fourth and final book in the "Classic Home Video Games" series. It will cover the SNES, Jaguar, CD-i, 3DO, and other consoles from that time. I'm making good progress, but publication is still at least a year away. I recently wrapped up an encyclopedia on the rock band KISS, and it will be out during the spring or summer of 2016.

For more info, here's my Amazon author page:

Thanks for reading!

Hey Brett!

I had the pleasure of meeting you at the Houston Arcade Expo.   I was lucky enough to nab a copy of your 100 Greatest Console Games and get you and Walter to sign.

You also had a few Intellivision titles I nabbed to add to my collection, and gave a great talk with Walter Day.

As for the book, its fantastic.  It is absolutely beautiful stylistically, and full of great info.   Definitely should be on any retro gamer's shelf!

I too am a huge KISS fan, so next I plan on checking out your KISS book.

Hi everyone, I have a new YouTube channel that I hope you'll check out:

If you want to drool over the Stadium Events cart or play the world's largest Pong machine, you'll have to visit The National Videogame Museum in Frisco, Texas, but here's a sneak peek at some of the things you'll find at the first dedicated facility of its type in the U.S.:

Thanks for watching!
