Pinball is a very early game for Nintendo Entertainment System, and was a launch title for the system in the U.S. Pinball is a simple NES game with rudimentary graphics and a lack of big effects. However, Pinball’s simplicity leads to some very fun gameplay and can become quite addicting once you get into it! Pinball is an easy going game compared to our last Squad Challenge game Kaboom! Pinball also has that “early Nintendo feel” to the game, and features an appearance from our old friend Mario! NES Pinball is about skill, strategy, and sheer luck.Something odd happens once you pass 100,000 points, so watch out! Do you have what it takes to become our Squad Pinball Champion?I hope all of you have a good time, and remember this is for "nerd cred" and meant to be fun for all! You have until 11:59 pm PST January 31st, 2016 to complete this challenge and successfully submit your score. A ROM and Instruction Book are included below. GOOD LUCK, SQUAD!Pinball.nes Pinball.pdf
nosweargamer Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 No longer have my cart, but I think I have it on e-reader and might have it unlocked in the original Animal Crossing. I'll have to see if I can dig one or the other out. StormSurge Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 I know this will eventually be at the bottom of the list but right now, I'm #1!! (I will try & improve on this, but I wanted to be able to say that I had the high score at one point.) 60,130
The Professor Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 That's a really good score to start, StormSurge!
RickR Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 107,530. I'm very glad nosweargamer mentioned that the flippers disappear at 100,000. I would have thought my emulator was broken!

nosweargamer Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 So I finally found my E-reader. I must say, I think this game is better suited for portable play (short, simple, quick games). And the bonus round is very hard! fergojisan Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 Oooohh, I totally forgot about the e-reader! I do have the NES game but my NES is a bit flakey.

I hope to throw a better score up, but this is my best so far. That e-reader is really cool, BTW _20160117_081108.JPG Nice score!! I use to have an e-reader a long time ago (shortly after they made it to market) with Excitebike and a couple of other titles. They are neat and I kick myself in the rear every time I think about parting with them.

nosweargamer Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 Had an amazing game, with most points scored on my first ball (Isn't that how pinball usually is, scoring most of your points on a single ball?) After first ball: 239,320 Final Score: 329,850 The No Swear Gamer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChtJuo040EOCTVziObIgVcg Host of The Atari 7800 Game by Game Podcast on iTunes, Stitcher and YouTube
RadioPoultry Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 New score: 174,210. Over twice what I had before, but barely half of NSG's amazing score.
fergojisan Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 Yikes, you guys are putting up great scores. Plus I had no idea there was any Princess rescuing in this game. I have a lot of work to do, it's going to take a half hour just to swipe all the e-reader cards.
nosweargamer Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 Yikes, you guys are putting up great scores. Plus I had no idea there was any Princess rescuing in this game. I have a lot of work to do, it's going to take a half hour just to swipe all the e-reader cards. Well actually, it is just good ole Pauline from Donkey Kong. Apparently after failing to rescue her, Mario decided it would be easier to rescue princesses instead. Rumor has it she is still stuck in the dreaded Nintendo Pinball machine to this day!
