Sabertooth
It's all over the interwebs this morning: DeLorean to bring back a new(ish) version of the fabled DMC-12 in 2017. As a low volume manufacturer they will be exempt from safety standards that would otherwise prevent this. The new DeLorean will source a modern engine and transaxle. Rowsdower70
I read about this. They've had a place around here (in Texas) that has stocked the parts for them for quite some time. I'm guessing they might have decided to take it to the next level. Pretty cool stuff. I always thought it was a pretty car, although under powered for a sports car. AlamoAtari
I think that the wear house is in Houston. They have been selling replacement parts. I thought that they couldn't get vins so they had to buy wrecks to use the old ones. They were planning on selling "kits" in order to get around the ntsb and EPA requirements. RickR
This is going to be fascinating for sure. Will they try to make it high performance? Or stable and reliable? What will the dash look like? Airbags? And what about a Flux Capacitor? Surely modern tech can easily produce 1.21 gigawatts! GREAT SCOTT!

"The only significant DeLorean part that's going to be new is the V6 engine, which is great news for buyers. The original DeLorean engines only have 130 horsepower, while the new V6's will have between 350 to 400 horsepower, according to Espey." - CNN http://money.cnn.com/2016/01/27/luxury/delorean-coming-back-to-the-future/index.html?sr=fbCNN012716delorean-coming-back-to-the-future0723PMVODtopLink&linkId=20724414 Brian Matherne - owner/curator of "The MOST comprehensive list of Atari VCS/2600 homebrews ever compiled." http://tiny.cc/Atari2600Homebrew author of "The Atari 2600 Homebrew Companion" book series available on Amazon! www.amazon.com/author/brianmatherne
Arenafoot
Don't Call it a Comeback - 2017 DeLorean Exactly.......... I still have not found it yet, but somewhere I have an order form for a new 200? Delorean DMC-12 from DMC Houston (PDF file). But, I did come across this screen shot I took of Yahoo.com's front page on March 1, 2011......... but yet amazing that archive.org does NOT have that page on that date nor Google & Yahoo can find that article. Clint Thompson
Personally would be more interested in an electric converted ones going for the same price but I guess for the people who have the spare cash to spend and want a brand new DeLorean, this is their ticket! I'm actually kind of surprised to hear they have that many locations open? I guess replacement parts go for a mint! 7800 - 130XE - XEGS - Lynx - Jaguar - ISO: Atari Falcon030 | STBook |STe

Clint Thompson
The advert was a little bizarre and I'm not really sure how to describe the feeling from it. Those customized DeLorean's look awful for the most part in my opinion. I think a black brushed aluminum one would look stellar but the rest are just gaudy. 7800 - 130XE - XEGS - Lynx - Jaguar - ISO: Atari Falcon030 | STBook |STe
PotatoBox
Certainly very interesting. I wonder if the built quality will be compared to the original.
