Restoration of the Starship Enterprise

The original model of the Enterprise from the original series was donated to the Smithsonian in 1974, and is now going through a full restoration.  It's fascinating to look at the pictures.  I'm very appreciative that the museum is giving this restoration the full respect of doing it right.  Also very neat that they are documenting the process for all of us to see.

 

It will be interesting to see if they put the model back into the basement gift shop (where it was before) of the Air and Space Museum, or if it gets a more prominent location for display.
