Atari 5200 Guy Posted April 6, 2016 Report Posted April 6, 2016 "...Let's Get Ready 2 Rumble!" After taking a break for short while I was looking through my collection of hardware and games I tried to find one game I could play that would help me get out of my funk. There are games I have that I play often and games I have that I rarely play. I basically have them to have them. One game I picked out is one I had before and traded off for something else. I enjoyed the game a lot in the past and when I added it to my collection again I played it for a while, mostly to make sure it played. Well...I setup my Dreamcast and inserted... I played Arcade Mode and I forgot how much fun this arcade-style boxing game really is. I played it for a few hours today using the only character I like in the game...B. Brown. The taunts are hilarious, the characters are hysterical, and the controls are solid. This is easily one of Dreamcast's easy-to-pick-up-and-play titles...you don't need a degree to figure it out. The reactions of the characters as they fall is comical as well. I have yet to adventure into the Championship mode of the game, now might be the time to take that adventure. Sega and Midway...two great gaming companies that need to be back doing what they did before. Sega is still making games but it would be great to see them make another console. Midway brought some great franchises that are still holding up to today's standards. Ready 2 Rumble is one title that is great but often overlooked. I never hear any one talk about it much, if at all, and it does deserve the spotlight. Even if the spotlight doesn't shine for long.
StormSurge Posted April 6, 2016 Report Posted April 6, 2016 I haven't played this in years. I may have to dust it off. (And start picking up some more DC games)
RickR Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 When my kids were young, the comical referee counting would bust them up laughing every time. It's a great game on a great system.
