RickR Posted September 30, 2016 Report Posted September 30, 2016 This one is too awesome not to share! http://metv.com/lists/alas-we-will-never-eat-these-18-cereals-from-the-1980s-again
Rowsdower70 Posted September 30, 2016 Report Posted September 30, 2016 Sadly, I would never experience any of these growing up unless it happened to be at a sleepover with a friend. My parents were always on too much of a budget to get any of the name brand stuff. Sometimes we'd get Frosted Flakes or Cheerios, maybe Rice Crispies...but most of the time it was cheapie or nothing!Shame too because Smurfberry Crunch looks like my cup o' tea! As soon as I moved out (shortly after I turned 18) I bought all the kid cereal I wasn't ever allowed to get before! RickR Posted September 30, 2016 Author Report Posted September 30, 2016 That's the one thing I remember about moving into a dorm in college. The huge row of fishbowls full of different cereals in the cafeteria. I assure you, I tried them all.
Atari 5200 Guy Posted September 30, 2016 Report Posted September 30, 2016 I don't remember the E.T. cereal. I do remember the Mario and Zelda cereal. I do remember the Pac-Man cereal as Mom always grabbed that one on grocery store visits.
RickR Posted October 2, 2016 Author Report Posted October 2, 2016 After consuming two boxes of Count Chocula...I bought Frankenberry today.
Arenafoot Posted October 3, 2016 Report Posted October 3, 2016 I tried these back in the day - didn't like them the barrels were too hard. GervGirl Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 I remember begging my dad to buy the Nerds cereal with the two different flavors. He finally did and I hated it! Lol I think that was the last time he ever let me talk him into buying and if those gimmicky cerreals.
Clint Thompson Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Awesome! I remember the Nintendo cereal but not sure if we ever had it, just know I saw it. I don't know why E.T. cereal isn't still available on the shelves after all these years ;-) but I would definitely go out and buy some haha 7800 - 130XE - XEGS - Lynx - Jaguar - ISO: Atari Falcon030 | STBook |STe
