RickR Posted October 16, 2016 Report Posted October 16, 2016 They will all be for sale soon, as I no longer have a turntable. But I thought I'd share some pictures here before they are gone. The first thing I noticed is how great it is to have such nice large sleeves for pictures and cover art. We simply no longer have this with today's music, and it's really a shame. Pieces of art. The Star Wars record is probably my favorite one here. I remember buying it from Montgomery Wards after seeing the movie. Second favorite -- the Mr T record -- just for pure ridiculousness. The U2 singles are kind of cool. I bought them just to get the b-sides, which were not on the Joshua Tree album. K-Tel/Ronco records! The "Sounds of Horror" is one I really missed. I looked for this record in downloadable format for a long time and finally found it a few years back. It's got a good version of "Monster Mash", and then some really ridiculous horror tracks. So bad they are great. Breaking bones sound like crunching celery. You get the idea. I love this thing.
Rowsdower70 Posted October 16, 2016 Report Posted October 16, 2016 I pity da fool that sells Mr. T's record! Treat yo mamma right! "For you - Rowsdower from the 70 - have been appointed Omnivisioner of the Game Grid." ~ Atari Adventure Square

RickR Posted October 17, 2016 Author Report Posted October 17, 2016 Naw, I have most of this stuff on CD. Not that there's anything wrong with it...but I'm opposite of those that think records sound better than the digital formats.
AtariBrian Posted October 18, 2016 Report Posted October 18, 2016 I'd be interested in the story of star wars.
StormSurge Posted October 18, 2016 Report Posted October 18, 2016 I still have my High Energy LP too!
RickR Posted October 19, 2016 Author Report Posted October 19, 2016 More records found. Brian, I'll PM you on the Star Wars record. I'd love to know it went to a good home.
greenween Posted October 19, 2016 Report Posted October 19, 2016 Love vinyl, I have a huge collection, including several of these! Did you happen to get that "Sounds of Terror" record with "Goofy Gold'? "Better to be king for a night than schmuck for a lifetime."
Atari 5200 Guy Posted October 23, 2016 Report Posted October 23, 2016 Vinyl lover here. I am on the "analog sounds better" team. Always have been. You have a few I've been looking for. The Right On K-Tel album and both Icehouse LPs. I'm a huge K-Tel fan since childhood. Those where about the only things I would want before an Atari game. Awesome to see these LPs. I hope that they go to a good home.
