No more 3ds?

I read somewhere that with the Switch coming soon Nintendo might end production on the 3ds and it's software?

 

Has anyone else also read or heard anything on this?

I would think Nintendo would be smart and hedge their bets with Switch. If it takes off, I could see them start to slow down and stop 3DS production, but if Switch fails they will milk the 3DS for all it is worth to stay afloat while they decide what to do next.

GBC lasted 2 years after the GBA came out

GBA lasted 5 years after the DS came out

DS lasted 3 years after the 3DS came out

 

Any talk of the 3DS being discontinued as soon as the Switch comes out is simply ridiculous and unfounded.

I expect the 3DS to last another 3-4 years after the Switch is released.

Heck, it's been confirmed the 3DS has a full lineup of games coming out next year.
