Atari's Puffer Project was really interesting! They were taking a shot at developing the "interactive health and fitness" market which @Yo-Yo astutely points out was years before Wii Fit and even the NES Power Pad. I believe Regan Cheng worked on this project from an ergonomics standpoint. It would not have included the exercise bike itself (Atari assumed people would want to choose their own brand, or already have one) but rather the games and bundle of accessories that would attach to the exercise equipment. Interesting that they show both a 2600 and 5200 Puffer setup:
