ATARI DAY - On the 26th day of each month, show the world how much you love Atari!

Recommended Posts

In case you missed it, we had a couple of Atari I/O members post some GREAT celebrations of Atari Day! First of course there was No Swear Gamer with his Pole Position Atari 2600 Review. He had polled Atari I/O members to see which game we wanted and then created this review in response. If you haven't had the chance, check out his Pole Position video, like and share  :)

Next, our friend Vic Sage posted a Retro Radio Memories Podcast episode over at The Retroist in celebration of Atari Day! Like NSG he gave our website a shoutout! This episode was about "The Story of Super Breakout", an audio book set released by Atari in 1982. It's VERY cool to listen to!

HAPPY ATARI DAY! Be sure to hop on over and check out The Retroist today, where they're celebrating with a look at the new book Art of Atari and our interview with Author Tim Lapetino: http://www.retroist.com/2016/10/26/celebrate-atari-day-art-of-atari/

Here's The Retroist's Vic Sage checking out Art of Atari:

I recently bought that book as a digital copy on Amazon. I had a gift card to redeem, so I did. Interesting stuff in it. I like Atari because they were one of the first game companies. It was pioneering at the time. Atari is synonymous with video gaming. I have been collecting Atari games for almost forty years, since 1982. They are fun, challenging, and imaginative. I love my collection as well. There are over 300 games in it, almost all Atari.

Here's My Atari Day Contribution!

Hey it's Millipede! WOOHOO '84 TIGERS! Go Gibby!! I always liked having the DDT bombs in this game, I feel like this is one of the earliest "power ups" we saw in an Atari game. Fantastic video, thank you for another Atari Day site button shoutout!
