Ballblaɀer Posted February 18, 2017 Report Posted February 18, 2017 Pretty awesome parody of The Beatles' "Tax Man". I'm a huge fan, but I think anyone can enjoy this one! fergojisan Posted February 18, 2017 Report Posted February 18, 2017 I'm glad it's finally out officially. Putting the intermission into the solo is genius! I was surprised that it doesn't sound much better than the version that's been floating around for the past 35 years. Oh well, still better than Buckner & Garcia. chas10e Posted February 19, 2017 Report Posted February 19, 2017 I think the lyrics are what the developers of "Baby Pac-Man" were thinking Rowsdower70, jmjustin6 and Arenafoot 3 Quote

Arenafoot Posted February 19, 2017 Report Posted February 19, 2017 "just released"??????? I've had an MP3 of this song since 7/11/14, I downloaded it from Dr. Demento Basement tapes #4. I never knew it wasn't released (or just out there)!! It's OK....not my fav Pac-Man song of course, but it's on my MP3 player. fergojisan 1 Quote Brian Matherne - owner/curator of "The MOST comprehensive list of Atari VCS/2600 homebrews ever compiled." http://tiny.cc/Atari2600Homebrew author of "The Atari 2600 Homebrew Companion" book series available on Amazon! www.amazon.com/author/brianmatherne

Officially, it will be on the rarities disc of his career-spanning box set coming out soon. He posted a video of it on Vevo. I think I got my copy from Napster. Arenafoot 1 Quote
Rowsdower70 Posted February 19, 2017 Report Posted February 19, 2017 Too bad we'll probably never hear his parody of "Live and Let Die", "Chicken Pot Pie".Paul said no to that one because he's a vegetarian (or vegan). jmjustin6 and fergojisan 2 Quote "For you - Rowsdower from the 70 - have been appointed Omnivisioner of the Game Grid." ~ Atari Adventure Square
dauber Posted February 19, 2017 Report Posted February 19, 2017 Yeah, the song was released years ago on the aforementioned Basement Tapes CD that you'd get with your Demento Society membership. (And I think you can still order it via The Demento Society.) It's simply listed as "Bonus track by 'Weird Al' Yankovic." When I played the CD and heard the song, I thought the title was a way of dodging the "Apple Police," as some Beatles fans call 'em. But it turns out that Al's track on the next year's Basement Tapes volume also had the same title, but it was an Al original (don't remember which one off the top of my head), so I guess it might be that the list was made before they decided which Al song would make the cut. dauber Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 Thing is....Al is also a vegetarian. (But I think for different reasons. I think he's veggie because he found it to be a healthy diet; Macca is a vegetarian due to his strong animal rights beliefs.) I think Al also had a "Black or White" parody that had to do with chicken as well for which Michael Jackson wouldn't grant his blessing, also citing vegetarianism.
