The 4 Greatest Video Game Characters Of All Time

So, I'm starting a new series on my channel called the Mt. Rushmore series. In it, I take a topic and give you my four top choices to put on a mythical Mt. Rushmore. I also thought it might make for some good forum topics.

 

Today I give you my choices for the four greatest video game characters of all time:

 

 

So what four video game characters would you put on your Mt. Rushmore?

Well, that's a good list.  Hard to come up with a different set of characters that have had the same impact.

Donkey Kong

So far it seems the weakest link on my list is Link! Sonic seems to be second

 

Some other possibilities that have been mentioned under my video include Donkey Kong, Master Chief, Mega Man & Pitfall Harry!

Oh, and btw, I'm already considering doing a part 2 with my next four picks, but I'm going to try and do more original topics before do repeat ones. Ideally, I want to release one every Monday, but I've been busy at home, so we'll see if I can do it that often.

I can't disagree with your list.  But I do have some additional characters to consider:

- Gordon Freeman.

- Samus

- Master Chief

- Duke Nukem

- Pikachu

- GlaDOS 

 

I could go on an on.  We've been lucky to have so many great characters!

For me, characters like Frogger, Bentley Bear, Peter Pepper and Q*bert are very cool, but they didn't do a lot pass their original game. Some had sequels, but they didn't make much noise.

If a Space Invader can count as a character, I'd put that in over Link.  No argument here on Mario, Pac-Man, and Sonic.

 

Q*Bert had some solid traction for a while -- a cartoon, board & card games, plush dolls (gotta find mine!), wind-up toys, etc... but I agree he's (it's?) not a top four, either.

Mario - A plumber and carpenter could be useful.

Pitfall Harry - A survivalprofi is very important for surviving.

Lara Croft - guess what!

Peter Pepper - can't get hungry with his hamburgers.

In no particular order:

 

- Pac-Man; He from who all Pacs sprang

- Commander Shepherd; my favorite character from the modern era. It's a big plus that you can play as either male or female.

- Mario; No explanation needed.

- Link; It's always a joy to take a trip through Hyrule.

 

Honorable mentions: Megaman, Q-Bert, Sonic, Donkey Kong, Billy Lee & Jimmy Lee, Raziel, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Master Chief, Simon Belmont, Lara Croft
