jmjustin6 Posted October 18, 2017 Report Posted October 18, 2017 So i just hacked my snes classic with hakchi2. It was the easiest thing i have ever hacked. You can add up to 300 games, but i wouldnt if you still want to save games. Im only gonna add 100 or so maybe more. So what are some snes games that are must plays? MaximumRD 1 Quote
jmjustin6 Posted October 18, 2017 Author Report Posted October 18, 2017 Some games are funny. Example beavis and butthead for some reason you die in one hit. There is a list online that tells you what games work and what games dont Quote
RickR Posted October 18, 2017 Report Posted October 18, 2017 OK, so that makes it much more appealing. I don't know what games are on there already, but I'd add Super Punch Out, Space Invaders, NBA Jam.. Quote
jmjustin6 Posted October 18, 2017 Author Report Posted October 18, 2017 Super punchout is already on there. So far i have added about 40 games. My favorite include eartworm jim, space invaders, all of the mortal kombats, the star wars games, the bomberman games and more Quote
jmjustin6 Posted October 18, 2017 Author Report Posted October 18, 2017 Now i am really excited to see if Nintendo makes a N64 classic. There are games i have really been wanting to play for a while Quote
RickR Posted October 18, 2017 Report Posted October 18, 2017 Oh yeah, the Star Wars games are great too. Nice choices. Quote

Mcorleonep Posted October 18, 2017 Report Posted October 18, 2017 I so want to do this but the problem is that I have no working PC at home since my 8+ year old laptop 'died' last year. My iPad has been my 'default' PC/media device since then as I didn't feel like blowing $1,000+ on something that will only last a few years... Quote

Check out this thread: http://forums.atari.io/index.php/topic/3524-installing-linux-on-an-old-laptop/ I don't think spending $1000 is necessary. Older PC's and laptops are still useful and much less expensive. Let me know if you need help finding an affordable used PC, especially if you are in the NW part of the country. I have a few in my attic that I could sell for less than $100 shipped. One of them even has Win 10 on it. Mcorleonep 1 Quote

Atari 5200 Guy Posted October 18, 2017 Report Posted October 18, 2017 What turned me away from the SNES Classic was that it had no racing games. Where's Top Gear? I didn't see Thunder Spirits, Gradius III, Actraiser, G-Darius, I could keep going. Those are what I would put on there. jmjustin6 1 Quote
Mcorleonep Posted October 18, 2017 Report Posted October 18, 2017 (edited) If & when I get mine updated once I get a hold of a PC, two of my most wanted are not currently compatible but that could change with an updated release. Those would be Terranigma (a European PAL only release) and Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2, Japan only release but there's an English patch). However there's plenty others I would upload that do work. I can't get enough of the Super NES RPGs. I'm still knee deep in FF3 which still can hold my attention better than many other current generation games... Edited October 18, 2017 by Mcorleonep jmjustin6 1 Quote

Arenafoot Posted October 19, 2017 Report Posted October 19, 2017 I dont know. Talk of the town is that Nintendo is making a gameboy classic mini next, but who really knows for sure? How about a Sony Playstation Classic Mini???? jmjustin6 1 Quote Brian Matherne - owner/curator of "The MOST comprehensive list of Atari VCS/2600 homebrews ever compiled." http://tiny.cc/Atari2600Homebrew author of "The Atari 2600 Homebrew Companion" book series available on Amazon! www.amazon.com/author/brianmatherne
Kid A Posted October 19, 2017 Report Posted October 19, 2017 (edited) I hacked my SNES classic the day I got it. I had hacked my NES classic with some SNES games beforehand. Since I did get an SNES, I rehacked my NES, deleted the SNES games, and put the entire Atari 2600 library on it with plenty of room for other games as well! I added some tg16, Gameboy GBA and GBC games, genesis, and others. Edited October 19, 2017 by Kid A Arenafoot, jmjustin6, MaximumRD and 1 other 4 Quote

Mcorleonep Posted December 13, 2017 Report Posted December 13, 2017 Ok, after getting hold of an old POS HP desktop, I hacked both my NES & SNES classic consoles. I just opened the 16-bit Pandora's box. I'm currently playing Terranigma (using Retroarch), which was never released stateside. Then on to Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2) which I've been longing to play for 20 years. Not to mention tons of quirky but entertaining obscure Japanese titles (some of which came with English patches)... The SuperNES games for the most part hold up well today more than most consoles...
