B) I use to have a first-gen iPad and I loved it.  The only thing I didn't like about it was that I couldn't take it outside or use it in areas where there was too much sunlight.  You couldn't see anything on the screen unless you were in darker areas.  Forget taking it outside even on cloudy days.  But it did work well and I enjoyed the apps that Apple had for it that were either free or cost very little.  They just worked.  Simple as that.  I think you will like it once you get use to it and the Apple way of things.  For me the hardware is good but I've moved on...I prefer Android, Windows, and Ubuntu Linux.  Don't get me wrong.  If I had the opportunity to get an iMac Mini, iPad, or anything like that from Apple I would as they are good products.  I just have no need for it when there are similar items on the market that is more cost-efficient.  That is an awesome thing you got, Maximum, and I know you guys will enjoy it.  I got the Bookshelf and a few free books with mine...one of which was an old Winnie The Pooh book.

Hmmm did my first real testing today. Being the iPAD 3 with retina display I can only assume it can attain higher brightness levels. Low to Medium was practically invisible on this sunny day as expected but setting it around 75-80% brightness allowed me to shoot with no issue at all. I just shot a bit inside then walked a bit around the Condo grounds and yeah as soon as I stepped outside I had to turn it up a lot but that said seemed to work quite well.

Today was my first day doing any real testing, getting use to actually holding this surprisingly heavy tablet. Was pretty cool out fortunately I have gloves that have these little finger tips on thumb and 3 fingers that actually work with touch screens. Just little private clips I am uploading for testing, I want to be fairly comfortable shooting with the iPAD before I start uploading public videos again. As I suspected the camera on this model is not quite on par with my old SONY BLOGGIE, image stabilization was definitely better but that said I been shooting video for so long I can be pretty steady when I try, actually the weight and size of the iPad seem to almost force me to take more time and use a steady hand anyway. The iPAD definitely has better sound though. So my testing so far indicates I should be pretty good with it soon and most importantly above all else comparing the two the iPAD is dependable and I do not have to worry about it crapping out on me during filming as my Bloggie seems to be doing more and more, the iPAD just does what I want it to do so that is much more encouraging and motivating for me to make youtube videos.

Yes I will always consider myself more a Windows / Android guy at heart but as you touched on I was given an incredible offer and I simply needed the device for shooting videos, no not something I'd have chosen for myself but as they say "Beggars can't be choosers" so I reconsidered and accepted and now I am glad I did because as another person commented elsewhere at least if I still have a complaint or gripe about the platform I can at least speak from a place of hands on experience.  But really overall I am very happy, it is certainly better than any hardware I already owned, LOVE my cheap import ANDROID tablets for emulation and gaming and the odd browsing but to say the camera are utter SHIT is putting it nicely, on top of that with my good old SONY BLOGGIE starting to crap out on me well, I am very thankful to have the iPAD 3, I do try to make the most of what I have and this is not different.

I agree about the android tablet cameras on some models.  My wife and I have four between us, two each.  All of them are RCA Voyagers about a year apart from each other.  Not a one of them has a camera that I would waste a penny on...and they all have a front-facing camera only.  They were advertised as having front and rear cameras but there is no rear cameras on these things.  Not that I would use them anyway considering the quality.  I'll stick with my trusty Logitech 720p Webcam I use for my videos and I have a 1999 Sony digital camera that saves to floppies and Magic Gate memory cards that still works.  I never used the camera on my iPad so I lack experience in that department.

But the retina screen is suppose to be as close to a crystal-clear image as possible.  Put it mildly to match retina of the human eye.  Glad you are liking it.  If you enjoy writing and stuff like that be sure to check out Pages.

Well have not done a video for ages BUT here is something quick I threw together for today. just a quick daily check in our recycling bin because tomorrow evening we may goet rainfall and flooding the likes we have not had in like 200 years. City is basically under State of Emergency due to predicted rainfall for tonight and tomorrow : See HERE

Kelowna posted May 10, 2017 by KelownaNow Staff State of Emergency: Mayor of Kelowna asks residents to pull together for possible one in 200 year event. Flooding throughout the Central Okanagan has resulted in a number of Evacuation Alerts, Orders and road closures. The City of Kelowna, City of West Kelowna and the Fintry Delta in the Regional District of Central Okanagan declared a state of emergency on Saturday, May 6, 2017 due to flooding from various creeks spilling their banks in the Central Okanagan. With warm temperatures, rising freezing levels and 25-40 mm of rain forecast for Thursday, May 11, 2017 to Sunday May 14, 2017, rising water levels throughout the valley are a real concern.

"Forecasts released on Monday could be predicting a one in 200-year event," said Shaun Reimer, Section Head, Public Safety and Protection. Mayor Colin Basran in the video below has encouraged Kelowna residents to prepare for rising water levels in local creeks and streams and to work together to help friends, family and neighbours during this flooding event."

HONESTLY I hope they are wrong, I do not really expect to see floods appearing down our streets, at least I am hoping but who knows? When we first moved here years ago that summer we sustained the worst Fires that summer and thought "Geez is this normal here?" it wasn't really it was just timing. Anyway lights have flickered so there is also chance of power outages (which could be the worst part lol) so let's just hope it does not end up as bad as they suggest.

Anyway, with all that said here is my quick silly little video, done mostly just to let my Youtube subscribers know I am at least still alive.  :spot:

UPDATE ! Fortunately flooding in my area has not happened and currently it is more sunny than cloudy! Crisis averted! We are out of the danger. Surrounding cities / towns sadly had a much worse time.

Been far to long! My NEW video. Be warned ;) this is a ramble where I veer off on tangents and for those that have been with me for a while it is expected. Be sure to grab a beer / coffee and sit back and listen to my take on the topic of emulation ranging from my history to views on ethics and morality of emulation to thoughts on what I might like to try and finally PLEASE SHARE what you like to emulate and your personal favorite means of emulating. THANK YOU.

You should see if your new editing software does "Star wipes".  Because 50% more star wipes will make your video 100% better.

Part of a recent Well's Gray Ltd. trip (Skeena and Inside Passage package) we stopped at the the Historic Town of Barkerville and I decided to check out the Cemetery as it was not on the tour agenda but I took it upon myself to break away from the other tourists and check out this historic Cemetery since I would not get another chance. If I seem somewhat out of breath don't worry I am fine, I was not expecting the hike to be so out of the way and I was rushed since I was on a schedule! Well worth it and I am happy to share with you all.

-------------- Barkerville Cemetery -----------------------
Meet Reverend Reynard at the Anglican Church and journey with him on a 1 km walking tour to Barkerville’s original cemetery; the final resting place of Barkerville’s famous (and not-so-famous) residents and one of the most interesting historic cemeteries in British Columbia. Many of the headboards have been recently restored, and the tour benefits from up-to-date research.

Talkin' bout Batteries, Rechargeable, Recycling, etc

Talkin' bout Batteries, Rechargeable, Recycling, etc  -
Sorting through my hard-drive I found this video which I don't recall uploading. Doesn't mean I didn't but since I cannot confirm here it is anyways. Maybe I simply decided against uploading it for some reason or maybe I just forgot, here it is now all the same for better or worse.
