Am I missing something here? WHY has no one implemented this for the Raspberry Pi!

Seeing that there is no Rpi section on this site, I'll post this here...

We've all seen pushbutton projects to shutdown a Raspberry Pi, but WHY has no one ever done it by REMOTE CONTROL?  Right now, you can sort of shut down with software, but power is still supplied to the Pi.  You can however buy a remote control power switch to cut power after the shutdown, and then when switched on again the Pi will boot (depending on your case).  It sure would be nice though to have an all-in-one remote control to shutdown the Pi and then cut power.  Is that asking for too much?
