- Ω -
Okay, he's the scenario... You've volunteered for a one way trip to Mars, you know it's going to be tough, and you may not survive, but you do have Internet, albeit very, time delayed. Every click you take requires 40 minutes turn around. So, where would you hang out on the Internet that required the least amount of clicks, for the most socialization in your limited time? CrossBow
Well it would have to be something where you didn't need immediate replies. But standard Email would be a good one for starters. Next to that might be Discord? FB and even the forums here or elsewhere would require having to click around too much to open up different topic threads and the like so yeah it would have to sites or applications with mostly static screens. Maybe bring back stuff like ICQ and programs like that? RickR
I wouldn't bother other than status reports to/from Earth. I'd rather set up a local "Mars" internet and pay attention to life there. If I'm the only person on Mars, then I think I'd probably just do a time-delayed Q/A back and forth with whatever scientific community I may need help from. Agriculture experts, for example. HDN
Probably Discord, as that’s instantaneous (albeit 40 minutes delayed) and I don’t need to bother refreshing the page constantly. But I’m with @RickR! Mars internet, here we go! (Though, who’s gonna be on it?) Edited June 11, 2021 by HDN

Yeah whenever a message popped up, you could reply and hit send. In another window you could have the "activity" screen of this site on the screen and hit "refresh" in the morning, pick out a interesting message and reply to that after breakfast and maybe get a reply by lunch.
