Sabertooth Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 One of the first products to come out of Atari's IP fire sale: BATTLEZONE by Rebellion Software. Unveiled at this year's E3, the game purports to stay true to its arcade heritage while taking the concept into modern age. Its set to be an early title for Sony's Morpheus headset on PS4 and other VR devices for PC. Video, screens and press kit at http://www.battlezone.com. I have always loved Battlezone so I'll be curious to see this update. I like the Tron aesthetic in the video. There is also a glimpse of the original. Coming from the makers of AVP, I'm sure that this will be better than whatever the current "Atari" would have contracted out had they held onto the franchise. Still, it's a little weird to see the game being released without a fuji logo.
The Professor Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 This is both exciting and disappointing. It looks like a beautiful interpretation of the original game and I agree that the Tron aesthetic works really well with Battlezone. I'm sad to see another special piece of Atari chipped away.
Arenafoot Posted June 26, 2015 Report Posted June 26, 2015 wonder if they are going to make it for the Retro VGS also...........
