Got a Harmony cart - 2 Questions

#1 I'm playing the Harmony on the 7800. Output from 7800 goes rf to a splitter with one connection going to CRT and the other my laptop. Some games (but not most) will roll horizontally on the CRT but not on the laptop. I first discovered this with Double Dragon and it will do it every time with this game. What's the problem?

#2 Where are the Starpath games? Surely someone already converted them and they're online somewhere right?

first of all, what version is your bios on your harmony think the current one  1.06

second is the harmony first version or encore encore has more memory.

if your playing 2600 activision games on a 7800 I believe there are issues.

as for starpath they are converted to use on harmony.

Did you get the regular Harmony or Harmony Encore?

Alright I just checked and the firmware is 1.05. Are you telling me they shipped this out without updating the firmware?

Also I fired up Spider Fighter tonight and there's text missing in "Activision" at the bottom of the screen, text missing in what looks like is supposed to say "bonus" and the score is unreadable.

Overall it's a neat product but I'm uncovering more games that aren't working properly for different reasons. In a way I'm disappointed in that I thought the Harmony would be the cart to end all carts.

If any of the files were PAL I would assume it would have been made clear, unless every game is scrambled I doubt it is PAL.

For good measure you DID get a good source of ROMS right? Bad dumps may cause display issues or other corruptions - Like from here?

ROMHUNTER COLLECTION

http://www.atarimania.com/rom_collection_archive_atari_2600_roms.html

That is a clean set of ROMS all neatly organized for the HARMONY with everything including Retail / Demos / STARPATH / hacks  etc.

PRETTY SURE most recent firmware IS 1.5 like I have, 1.6 I believe is still BETA that has caused issues for some.

The ROMS I got were from AA where they have the zip files you can download. I figured that was THE place to get them. Rick sent me a link to an archive that I downloaded but I haven't tested any of those yet. I'm on vacation next week maybe that'll give me some time to experiment.

I'm considering finally jumping in the pool and getting a Harmony. Would you recommend the Encore? I want to be able to play all these great new homebrews and the Encore is the only way to do that, correct? (Aside from an emulator, but I'd rather play on original hardware)

this might help:http://atariage.com/forums/topic/220696-new-harmony-product-harmony-encore/?p=2903728
