Spent A Lot of Time w/ the 5200 today

Got two items in the mail this week: 2 flex circuits and an AtariMax SD Multicart.

Now for the first time in years I have two working Atari 5200 controllers. I still got a whole box of non-working 5200 controllers I need to figure out what to do with.

Downloaded a zip file containing over 100 ROMs for the multicart. Each friggin game was zipped up it took me like 30 minutes just to unzip all the ROMs and then organize them into folders.

Next I need to find a multicart that won't crash my Vectrex.

Time's yours...

You know if you have multiple roms in a folder all separately zipped you can just select all of them at once, right click and choose to unzip them all in one go right?

I'm back at it again with unzipping a boatload of ROMs. After you select all the zip files, with WinZip you have to right-click and DRAG and then you'll get the option "extract to here."

Glad your tinkering with the 5200, I quite like it, I only have one good controller (ordered from BEST) and my multi-cart is the older USB model but I cannot be bothered to upgrade to the SDcard version but it's fully loaded and I am satisfied with it. Really got to tinker and clean my Track Ball for it as it is kind of wonky. The controller is odd and I can see WHY it pisses off many even when working well but one can get use to it and it does work well for certain games.

I now have 4 working 5200 controllers. I think I had a defective wire shipped to me however as I am not able to get the auxiliary keypad to work with it yet the same flex circuit works perfectly with another wire. So, once I get that straightened out I should have 5 working 5200 controllers and I should be good to go for a long time.

I downloaded a whole bunch of 8 bit conversions along with the fixed version of Gorf and Popeye Arcade. Thanks to the community for expanding the 5200's library and making this a more enjoyable console. If it weren't for that and having all the ROMs on multicart I wouldn't nearly enjoy this console as much.

As a result I'm definitely playing this a lot more than I have previously.
