- Ω -
I'm in the market for a WiFi camera that does NOT use the cloud or Internet. I don't need or want one that works with my cell phone. Basically I need a single camera that simply sends the image to my PC OVER MY LOCAL NETWORK that will utilize an app to display the current picture on my monitor, and/or record if needed. Is there such a simple device? Quote <<< My YouTube Page >>>

Yeah, not interested in that, especially after China got caught sticking back doors in some software to access peoples networks. My want is simple, preferably a lightbulb type camera that would only work on my local network with software to display the image on my computer screen. Besides there have also been companies that have gone out of business that have essentially turned some of these items into worthless trash without a server farm to service them. RickR
My old security cam will do that. It is a FOSCAM F18918W. I don't know if they still sell it or not, but I'm sure you could find one used. It doesn't hook up to the internet at all, unless you want it to (you'd have to open a firewall port). It can send alerts using many methods, including a local e-mail server. That's how I had mine set up....any movement it captures gets sent to an e-mail server, which alerts me if I'm no the road. Be forewarned that the resolutions and options are pretty limited. But it does work as you wish. I am now back from a road trip, having used that new Eufy camera at home this time. It worked really well. As far as internet backdoors go, I'm not too concerned. All footage it captures is stored locally on a microSD card. And I just unplug it completely when vacation is done.
