Gather enough energy by destroying the enemy’s shields and you can power up your massively destructive Zorlon cannon, which sends searing blasts of golden energy into the enemy hive. Yars: Recharged is a visually stunning new title from Adamvision Studios and SneakyBox, the team behind the Atari Recharged series. The indie-style gameplay is infused with elements of arcade, adventure, and shoot-em up punctuated by moments of bullet hell. Equally enjoyable on console and PC, Yars: Recharged requires players to remain acutely aware of visual and audio cues that hint of impending danger, and to master the smooth flying controls as they navigate increasingly complex enemy defenses. Atari Recharged veteran Megan McDuffee created the original soundtrack. The new game marks Atari’s return to the Yars universe, which is based on Howard Scott Warshaw’s classic Yars’ Revenge. Released in 1982, Yars’ Revenge became the best selling original Atari title on the Atari 2600. Yars: Recharged extends the legacy of this iconic franchise, and gives fans an opportunity to experience an expanded, modern take on the concepts introduced by the original. So that means 3 takes on Yars in the near term: Yars Recharged, Atari50 and HSW. What are your thoughts on the trailer for this Recharged version?!
