RickR Posted April 16, 2016 Report Posted April 16, 2016 Color me skeptical. I'm guessing this will run an emulator of some kind. I love the 64, but at that price, it just seems pointless. The portable model looks good...but again...how do you emulate a 64 with no keyboard? How does it handle those games that need the joystick plugged in either port 1 or port 2? How do you load images? My gut tells me this won't be an authentic experience, but rather something like the Coleco/Intellivision flashbacks. Which is fine...but not at $150.
Rowsdower70 Posted April 16, 2016 Report Posted April 16, 2016 If they got the price point down around $50, I might grab something like this. It looks like a neat unit, but as others have said I'm not sure I see the need.Still, since I have no original C-64 hardware, it would be neat to have some easy way to play my old favorites. RickR Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 Yeah, $50 sounds a lot better. If it's just an emulator, doesn't have Atari joystick ports, doesn't have a way to hook up a real disk drive or tape drive....may as well just run an emulator on a PC.
