  1. I am looking for an Atari 7800 programmer to assist with development. Trying to figure out to set it up with 4k of RAM. Tempest Xtreme and Tempest Elite uses lots of pre-calculated tables, will graphics 15 screen, and player-missile RAM. So it would be a different game almost written from scratch.
  2. This is a game we have been working on for almost 5 years. Tempest Elite runs on a standard 64K Atari computer and has the ability to detect VBXE and Stereo Pokey. When detected it loads the subroutines (drivers) to take advantage of the upgraded hardware in 320x192 256 color mode. If not detected it will run with original Atari 8-bit Antic GTIA player/missile graphics in 160x192 4 color mode.
  3. Actually it is joystick and keyboard. Up-Down-Left-Right to move the helicopter. Use the Left-Right Arrows on the keyboard to point the helicopter left or right. Press Down Arrow to point the Center the Helicopter to shoot at the ground. The trackball is just about the only other controller that has up-down-left-right. I did add optional controllers to Megaoids - Joystick, Paddles, and anything that uses that "grey code" to rotate the ship left or right. So the trackball should work with that game.
  4. HeliCommander A New Arcade Game for Atari XL/XE Computers An Arcade Action Game in the style of Chopper Command and Choplifter Game Cartridge requires an Atari Computer with 16K of RAM and 1 Joystick Parallax Scrolling creating a great 3D effect and colorful scrolling objects and background Enemies - Choppers, Tanks, Bombers, Trucks, Bunkers, to challenge you. Many Challenging Levels to play This game was extensively beta tested to assure quality See video for more
  5. I am providing this post for technical discussion and feed back about the games I have written. If you have a technical question or wish to tell us what you think about the games, feel free to post something here. Please keep things polite here. 6. Laser Blast is now available for sale for the Atari 8-bit computer. This is a port of the Activision 2600 game. Requires 16K of RAM so it will run on any stock Atari 8-bit computer. I did my own version from scratch and Instead of just doing an exact port of a 2600 game, I wanted something that will take advantage of the Atari 8-bit features like having 4 independent player sprites on a line and higher multicolored resolution for the ground, mountains, and star back ground. This does a parallax effect with back ground and foreground scrolling at different rates giving a nice 3D effect when scrolling between each level. Several variants you will be able to play include 3, 4, or 6 tanks on the ground, alien fighter crafts are also flying above the tanks, and enemies can either shoot lasers or "little bolts" up at your ship. The release date is Monday, November 28, 2016 that is CyberMonday in the United States. The game is available here. http://members.tcq.n...deo61/main.html
  7. Megaoids - Blasteroids type game now available on cartridge for $39.95 just in time for CyberMonday. The game was influenced by the arcade Blasteroids game. Instead of lives, you have shield energy that go down everytime you collide with an asteroids or exotic matter. The shield energy gets recharge when making contact with those glowing spinning orbs that pop up after destroying the asteroids. This also has fast moving laserbolts, can shoot multiple bolts at once. The game is full of sound effects, power ups, and exotic matter that redirect, grow, or clone the asteroids. I made a game many years ago in Turbobasic XL, many years ago around 1990. I decided to rewrite it totally in assembly language. I took the original font from its Turbobasic counterpart and updated it for this machine language version. As many of us know a 100% machine language port can run and play much smoother. There are more things can be done at the assembly language level that is hard to do in Complied Turbobasic. The Turbobasic version ran into limitations and I always wanted to do better. The orbs are now animated and move, no longer have slow downs, have stars in the background, and many more things move at the same time. Features: Fast Pace Games with Mulitcolor graphics. Selection of Controller Type: Joystick (Default), Keyboard, Paddle, Trackball (Indy 500 or mouse) controller. (The Trackball) option goes by "Grey Code" left right input, so if you know your input device outputs to the computer using it, the game should be able to read it. Solid original Atari 8-bit cartridge shell. The game is available here. http://members.tcq.n...deo61/main.html We have also release Laser Blast X on the same day. Megaoids was originally intended to be release in early October but was delayed due to personal issues with a member of our team.
