  1. Call me a softie, but I still tend to tear up whenever I hear “Pretty Paper”. Or watch “It’s a Wonderful Life”. Or see the ending to Super Metroid (won’t spoil that one for those who haven’t yet played.

Well I'm sure you've had good reason to cry.  Absolutely necessary and healthy IMO.

Cry for reasons tragic and frivolous.  In the end, it does help.  A reminder of our humanity.

I sometimes think about how I'd react when the time comes and my parents pass away. Sometimes I think I'd be stoic about it, and sometimes I think I'd cry a river. A day or two after I admitted my dad to the hospital a week ago, I was on my elliptical in the garage to put in my (almost) daily exercise, and I suddenly started to pray and cried out in tears thinking about him for a couple of minutes. He's back home now and my parents have been staying with us the last few days.

Tears in anger? You're a full blooded Italian all right 😆 Remind me never to piss you off 🤣 Probably the time I was most angry and reacted physically was when I struck out playing slow-pitch softball, and I punched the trunk of my Volvo 264 and left some knuckle indentations. I was 19 at the time and had been in an aircast after more than a month in a hard cast for a nearly broken right ankle (volleyball), and I hadn't touched a bat for a couple of months.

Nowadays, I respond emotionally to music, movies, books -- the arts in general. I surprise myself as I never did so when I was younger. I tell my wife that I'm just still growing and maturing as a person 😇

And @HDN your Metroid reference reminds me of Son #2 who shed some tears playing one of the Gears of War games on Xbox360. His favorite character died, and he cried a little. I think he was like around 13 at the time.
