  1. Me too. That way, I don't have to wait to get a coax adapter for the real 2600.
  2. An SD slot would be awesome, because then I could download a bunch of 2600 rooms and play them on it (they probably wouldn't all work though).
  3. I think maybe those are the "reset," "menu," "game type switch," "level select," buttons?
  4. Yes! Frogger! My mom has been waiting for them to include that one on these systems! Hopefully it's the Parker Brothers version, as that's the one my mom likes (because it's the one she grew up with, rather than anything to do with how good the graphics are). And a portable! Yes!
  5. Happy 4th of July everyone!

  6. Poor Battlezone's not getting any votes! It really deserves them.
  7. Oh, you forgot Centipede and Millipede too. I'm editing my ranking list from a few minutes ago to include them.
  8. True enough. I'm gonna try to rank these games listed. I'm leaving off Berzerk and Joust because I haven't played the arcade versions, and therefore, can't compare them (I haven't even played the 2600 version of Joust). I'll also put Jr. Pac-Man in the rankings. 1. Official Frogger 2. Space Invaders 3. Battlezone 4. Jungle Hunt 5. Defender 2 7. Jr. Pac-Man 8. Missile Command 9. Ms. Pac-Man 10. Asteroids 11. Millipede 12. Centipede They were all really good ports though. I had trouble ranking them.
  9. I voted for Official Frogger. I remember I used to play 2600 roms on the computer. I remember the Summer after eighth grade, I decided to download some 2600 rooms on a brand new computer. I went online and started downloading. I downloaded one that said "Frogger," thinking that it would be the Parker Brothers version I usually played (I didn't know there was another 2600 version at the time). Imagine my surprise when I started the game and it was one I had never seen before. Even BETTER than the Parker Brothers version! It blew my mind! I didn't know until that moment that the 2600 was capable of producing that good of a game! I just couldn't see this portneeding improvement. It was 100% perfect! My vote goes to Official Frogger. Another game you can put on your list is Jr. Pac-Man. It could easily make my top ten list of favorite 2600 games. It was a sweet port.
  10. Battlezone is a fun first person shooter on the 2600. I think you'd like it. Adventure is a fun game that a lot of people think might have inspired the original Legend of Zelda game. You get to explore dungeons, castles, and catecombs, to find a magic chalice that was stolen by an evil magician, and you must collect items to aid you on your quest. One of the items is a sword, which you must use to kill the three dragons sent by the magician. You can also collect keys to unlock castles. There's a bat that will steal items from you. You can also only hold one item at a time, adding a challenge. Yars' Revenge is one of the best games for the 2600. Jungle Hunt is a favorite of mine. Pitfall is a classic that I'm sure you'd enjoy. Ms. Pacman. Jr. Pacman. Asteroids. Many, many games.
