  1. I've only played the 2600 version. So that's what I'm voting for. LOL. Probably not a fair vote, but I wanted to vote. I don't know if it's true or not, but I remember reading somewhere that the boss level is a rip-off of the boss level from Phoenix. But since the game was already similar to Phoenix anyway it was kind of inevitable.
  2. That's so cool! If you're wondering what games to get for it, you can't go wrong with Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Super Smash Brothers. Also, my brother and I really enjoy the Spider-Man 2000 game for N64 (though it would probably be better to go with the PS1 version that same game), so I always recomend that too.
  3. You know you're in the Christmas spirit when you're watching different adaptations of "Scrooge" throughout the week. Yesterday, the George C. Scott version. Today, the Jim Carrey version. I'm all excited.

Oooh. That is one my Grandmother and I would watch after Emmitt Otter's Jug Band Christmas...on CED. Then we'd watch the other on VHS of course. Great holiday shows!

you should watch a Mickeys Christmas Carol, It has Scrouge Mickduck as Scrooge and Mickey as Bob Cratchit, It was pretty good, but it was only 30 minutes long.

I've seen it. It's a little too rushed for my tastes, though it is a good way to introduce th story to children.

  4. First snow in Southwest Michigan today. Fun for the kids (and I do like a good snowball fight), but at my age it can be a pain.

  5. I voted for Freeway! I just can't get enough of these games where you try to get animals across the street. Trivia: The beta version of this game has a stick-man instead of a chicken, and when you die, it shows a puddle of blood.
  6. Too bad there isn't a way to vote "both names were equally good," because I can't decide. I went along with Genesis because it's what I've been calling the system for years.
  7. Well, the WiFi router shorted out during a thunderstorm, so I've been gone awhile, but I'm back now.

Did you have that on a surge suppressor? Or did the surge suppressor fail?

I don't know. It apparently came through the phone line it was connected to. I don't think we have any surge suppressors.

  8. Found the old 60's Batman movie on Netflix a little while ago. So funny.

Its great, campy fun! You should see the 1940's serials of Batman.

  9. They don't make Whatchamacallit any more? :-(
  10. I can't think of a candy bar that I used to like, but I DO know a certain restaurant that I still wish was around; Hot 'n Now. Best fries and olive burgers ever! (My family and I admittedly didn't like the milkshakes though.) And sad too, because it went out of business when I was only seven.
  11. My brother is coming home for a few days. It will be great to see him again.

  12. Yeah, that's what happened. LJ07 originally posted about this in the Atari 2600 section, but I politely pointed out the fact that MaximumRD already beat him to it. I guess the two threads got merged afterwards.
  13. Don't think I'm being rude man, because I'm not trying to be rude. Someone already made a post like this on here a few days ago. Sorry.
  14. I saw the newspaper a few hours ago. Turns out those tornadoes we had a few weeks ago over here damaged about thirty-five homes. That's sad.

It sucks. Hopefully no one was hurt.

  15. There's actually a bug in the game that you can do to prevent the bat from taking things from you. Unlock the yellow castle and make sure it's empty. Then give the bat an item that you won't need for the rest of the game. Grab the bat as he has that item, and bring him to the yellow castle. Enter the castle and let go of him. If done right, the bat will fly through the castle in a loop, and never come out unless you bring an item into it fr him to grab. You won't have to enter the castle again until the end, when you bring the chalice into it. The bat will fly for the chalice when you enter the castle with it, just like it will for any item, but it will be too latenfor him to screw you over, as you will have completed the game already. And don't feel bad about thinking the dragons look like ducks, because everybody thinks that. ;-)
  16. I got a new computer as a present! Now I don't have to do everything on my iPad!

  17. "Suicide Adventure." In that version, the mazes are harder, and the dragons are AGRESSIVE! They appear constantly onscreen from the very start, and chow you down in seconds. I've never finished that version, because it's hard. I don't know if it was released as a cartridge though. There's also "Haunted Adventure," also known as "Return to Haunted House." It's basically Adventure with a Haunted House theme to it. The dragons are replaced with ghosts, the bat with the bat from Haunted House, and the sword with the scepter. Also, the chalice is replaced with a skull. You can find this game on the Flashback 4. Edit: Oh and the Flashback 4 also includes a game called Adventure II, which is unrelated to the 5200 game of the same name.
  18. Apparently, this information has come to Wikipedia as well (the information wasn't on there back when I made the discovery). Here's the link, where they have a picture of the 10-in-1 version of the Easter Egg: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari_(Jakks_Pacific) You just have to enlarge the picture, and you'll see the word "TEXT" at the top of the screen (in really tiny letters. What a joke). But yeah. Fail blog should definitely include that. Haha.
  19. I absolutely love this game. I like exploring all the chambers, and collecting things. And the duck-dragons are just so hilarious. This game is good for both the fun factor AND the humor factor (though the humor was unintentional). There's a reason this game is included on nearly every Atari compilation game. Fun fact: On the port of the game for the Jakk's Pacific 10-in-1 joystick, the Easter Egg was removed, and replaced with the word, "TEXT." I don't know if that was mentioned already, but I find it kind of funny (especially considering that it was the first version of the game I played, and it was before I knew that the games on the joystick weren't the original versions, so when I went looking for the Easter Egg, I was greated by "TEXT," and I was like, "What's this trash? I want to see the Easter Egg!" LOL. Still a fun little joystick to play games on though). It's also easier to find the "dot" because the darkness in the labyrinth is black instead of the original grey color, so you can easily see the dot when you enter the labyrinth.
  20. It's on my "still have yet to watch" list. One of these days, if I can ever get a copy of it.
  21. Now THAT'S more my style right there! If only... But, this new portable that we're getting this Fall is a step in the right direction at least. Thumbs up!
  22. I think the Master System was in the shadow of other great systems like the NES, and Sega didn't really become that popular until the release of the Genesis, which, let's be honest here, was a great system (though I can't speak for other people on this forum). The Master System was pretty good though.
  23. It would be cool if they shaped it like a really tiny Heavy Sixer or something like that.
