I think all this exonerates you from doing anything amiss.

it certainly made this challenge even more interesting

    I still haven't made the 3'rd screen

Thanks guys! Oddly enough, I hooked up my Vader and it's doing the same thing. My 7800 plays perfectly though. Guess i'll be attempting some repairs soon. I apologize for my difficulty settings fiasco, The 7800 is on the proper settings now so I'm going to keep trying!

Microvision (with Block Buster and Bowling) -- Actually from Shopgoodwill.  It works!
    A couple of DVD's
A Scooby Doo plug and play.  It's battery compartment was badly corroded.  But it was only $1.57.  Cleaned it up and it works.

If other mentioned attempts don't work, you might have to change a few caps.  Namely the one next to the AC power in jack and the one under the large cap (it should be wide and green).  I had to perform this on mine and my signal is pretty good now.  And similar cap with the same ratings will work as long as they are of the ceramic family.  I'm not sure if ones from the electrolytic family will work or not.  And I'm using RC to coax as well.  Another small trick to try, while the TV and 2600 are on rotate the console's coax inside the RCA to coax to see if it distorts or clears up.  These systems are very old and the cords fail from age easily.  It's only copper after all  I also noticed that if I bunched up the excess wires from the system to the TV and banded them (RF separate from AC of course) sometimes this helps with the signal quality as well.  Hope those help.

That was my original idea, to do a "crazy Space Invaders" event with this. Super Breakout is such a huge staple of Atari gaming I thought we'd mix things up. Turns out Game 1 is insane all on its own.

419 - This one feels more difficult than that crazy Space Invaders variant.

crack open the console & try a replacement RCA cable of some kind to see if image improves ( note the tip of the stock RF cable is shorter on one end )

also that origonal RF cable might have some corrosion on it clean all that up somehow , 90% rubbing alchohol, brasso , file , whatever

coax to RCA adapter is what I use , amesomest thing eve-a !!!!

yeah that's what screens shots or video is for ... "nerd credibility"

    the challenge just says:
THIS doesn't specify that "a" = advanced on sears consoles (and "b" = beginner)

the 7800 console doesn't specify which is which

the 7800 manual says "to the left is more difficult" but on MY console it is to the right

I tried game on my 7800 , there is no label on console which is "a" or "b"

as it turned out on mine "a" was to the right

I hope you keep on playing & sure you will acheive & surpass the scores you posted

ok I gatta ask .... do you have set to difficulty "a" ? ... that paddle in screenshot is same size as a full brick left behind. -or- did your last ball not hit the top of the screen ?

when my ball hit top of screen my paddle is reduced to the approximate size of the width of half a brick

I was 3 bricks shy of 3'rd screen

your 7800 is fine to play on now all the ambiguities have been ironed out

snow screen prolly some bad RF cable or connection of RF dirty , you use one of them coax to RCA adapters or a slider box ?
