  1. It is a lot of fun to discover games made that my area neglected. It is also fun to dig into games I own I've never really dug into heavily.
  2. I went with magical chase. That was a cool shooter to discover. However I enjoyed all I got to participate in. Any challenge that involves the 5200, Famicom, and ST computers I'm definitely going to be involved with. We could use more ST challenges. And I absolutely love the Jaguar!
  3. I love Ubuntu but all of my "owned" software are for Windows. If I could convert licenses I would stick with Ubuntu. I heard at one time a rumor of a cellphone with Ubuntu on it. Not entirely sure where that went.
  4. Thank you ☺️ Thank you. I use to have one many years ago. These are good tube tvs if you find em. The fuzziness, though, is from my wife's Xbox one. Our apartment is not grounded properly.
  5. Yep. One. This froggy can't swim so stay out of the water. How can you have a frog that can't swim. Of course I'm only being sarcastic here. For added points...the three small logs have a pattern. Every other pass those logs make from left to right will have a female frog. She will be on the last log to come from the left. Pick her up and hop in a cave for bonus points. I have also found it best practice with each new stage to watch it for a few seconds and see how everything moves. Cars move this way, logs and turtles move that way. Watch the mechanics of the game. That should help some.
  6. As an FYI...my 5200 is hooked up and I'm playing Zone Ranger although I'm not good at it yet.
  7. The 5100 would be cool to see in person in my opinion. I don't think it's so much it's size that I'm attracted to but more of the slight visual design if it I'm drawn to. To me it just looks like it has more of an attitude than it's laid back bigger brother. The heatsinks? I'm not sure because mine gets hot easily. My original one did too from day one. But the parts used could be subbed with something a bit more efficient. I still think it would be cool to see that design get a public release. just my opinion.
  8. Even better! But I'd settle for as is or composite outs. I've seen new motherboards, unpopulated, selling on eBay so why can't the 5100's motherboard be done? No excuses 😉. Look at it this way; we have tons of emulated systems that include the 2600, 7800, NES, SuperNES, C64, Intellivision, ColecoVision, and tons of mini arcade cab replicas...why can't we have the 5100 released in modern times even if it is strictly a novelty item? I mean...I'd buy this if it got a release without having to think on it. I would not want built in games but cool if it had some.
  9. This needs to be reverse engineered and released. It doesn't solve the controller issues but it by far more eye catching than the original.
  10. Something I just thought about...bare with me. I wonder if there could be a way to get the 5200 to accept the thumbstick technology that either Dreamcast or the N64 used? The N64 used infrared instead of potentiometers and the Dreamcast used some kind of magnetic setup.
  11. I forgot about that. Well, can we also include the 5200's Frogger?
  12. You know what would be really cool? A side by side challenge. All those ads from Atari showing the 2600 & 5200 ports of arcade hits? It would be neat to have a head to head 2600 vs 5200 type challenge. If we play a game on the 2600 and it is on the 5200 and 7800 then include those as well. Just a thought.
  13. The 2600 got a decent Frogger conversion. It looks, plays, and sounds good. The opening music on the 2600 PB cart doesn't sound much different from the 5200 port.
  14. Why not a triple threat? Include the 5200 Frogger as well?
  15. Whoohoo! Froggy plucked his magic twanger. Splat at 1665. Sorry for the fuzz. I have no clue where the interference is coming from.
  16. You have to listen to this while playing Frogger. It's mandatory 😂
  17. I read about that controller. That would be a nice conversion. Looks like all buttons are there as well.
  18. I, personally, would like to see the prototype self-centering joystick get a public release. Now that would be cool to see. But I doubt the 500 ohm potentiometers the 5200 uses in the controllers exist anymore.
  19. I love the 5200. It shares number one all-time favorite console spot along side my Famicom. Yes, it use to be the only one but I decided to let my number one pick be shared. For Atari gaming the 5200 is my go to system, and since importing and repairing a junked Famicom that lil console has grown on me in a relatively short amount of time. I use both heavily to feed that arcade and nostalgic urge I get from time to time. Together both give a nice rounded out experience. My 5200 library, however, has reached 40 games. Games I don't have are now getting to the rare side of things. I have plans to write up reviews on the games I do own soon. I plan to start with Zone Ranger.
