  1. Those blue jousters are.quick but the gray ones are tricky. They will go past you and then turn without warning. The gray ones have killed me more than anything else in this game including the pterodactyl.
  2. Come on, @RickR! You can do it! And you can take too spot, too. I have faith I you young Jedi.
  3. I like the 7800 manual personally. Documents are hard for me to come by these days. I've never played Karateka on the 7800. I also lack Ballblazer for it which I need to fix soon.
  4. I'm digging that Missile Command. That thing looks sick!
  5. Is it just the console or does it have controllers too?
  6. Flashback 2? I'll have to research that one. I forget what one that is.
  7. All of these have a 1987 year. And I know some 7800 games have year variations. Does anyone have a boxed Asteroids from another year? Or, just it can be verified, a loose cart with a different year on it.
  8. My Grandmother, Mom, and Great Aunt all gifted me 7800 stuff one Christmas holiday. I already had an NES and SMS at the time. I was probably 15, 16? And a trip to a mall that was out of town is what made all that happen. I have already posted elsewhere how that trip went. For that reason I won't repeat myself. But my dear Grandmother I believe forked all the money for all those gifts that year and just let Mom and my Aunt pick which they want to gift. The console and majority of the games came from her, though. I ended up with PPII, Xevious, Galaga, Asteroids, Joust, Centipede, Robotron, Dig Dug,, and Ms. Pac-Man. I'm glad I got it that year or I would have never been able to again. Shortly after the holiday that her the toy store those came from up and left. No warning. I never seen another 7800 again until 1999 in a secondhand store. I kept the boxes to every 7800 game and the console... something I did t do with my NES. I loved that little console.
  9. What?!? No light gun or trakball support? 😞. Kind of along the same lines as a movie quote from Doc Brown. "No wonder this sucked failed, it says 'Made in Japan'." "What do you mean, Doc? All the best stuff comes from Japan." 😲 I have to agree with you, though. As much as I love the 7800 and its games those controllers were tendonitis-inducing weapons of destruction. The balance is way off. Another design should have been tried or both regions should have received the pad controllers with the system. At least with that it would have had a bit more success. Maybe. That was the only thing that kept me from enjoying it like I wanted to BITD otherwise I would have played it more than the NES.
  10. My original Cyber morph was a pack in that came with my Jaguar. I always thought the morphing logo screen was iconic and seemed to enhance the story. Now that I know ...
  11. Dang it. I have the 1 MB version. That explains why I remember the morphing title but never see it on the cart I have now. I originally had the 2 MB version.
  12. When I was a kid I enjoyed the reading materials that came with my 5200 stuff. I would take the poster, owner's manual, game catalog with Asteroids advertised, and sometimes manuals to newly acquired games, with me to school and read them. Today I still enjoy reading the materials that comes with the NOS games. Especially Atari games because the stories they would come up with to support the game was very imaginative. I remember when I started taking care of my grandmother. My 5200's game catalog was found in her bedside night stand. I have no clue how long it had been there because I thought I lost it at school. I like reading them because you never know. Let us know what your Asteroids says.
  13. I have a boxed Asteroids for the 7800 and I was looking it over and noticed something odd. See if you can catch it. Looks normal, right? Screenshot of Asteroids, what it's for, some of it features. Keep looking. Here...I'll zoom in. I'll leave now for you all to comment about it.
  14. I was just about to respond. I have done it one time but you have to be very accurate. Your tiny javelin leaves no room for error. I don't know if you get points for the kill or not.
  15. Awesome score. You're not making this easy for me 😁 Just kidding man. Nice score. Care to share any secrets?
  16. Color issue solved. The 2600 colors needed adjustment.
  17. I'm actually using the LCD of an older portable DVD player. Wanna see? When I modded my 7800 to fix the bad RF modulator I also added a pulled headphone jack from a broken genesis. I was able to use that to connect it to a portable DVD player with inputs. Kind of neat actually. While I'm here score update: 75650. I'm knocking on someone's door...I just don't know who's door.
  18. Is my color off? I notice the bottom of some screenshots are brown, mine is purple ish.
