  1. It is strange how the 1986+ manual lists down as being hyperspace. There is no mentioning of a second fire button. Pulling down to activate hyperspace is mentioned again in the 5th paragraph under PLAYING THE GAME. The instructions don't mention any buttons except to use a controller button to fire but that could mean a single fire button on two controllers instead of two fire buttons on a single controller. Interesting discoveries surrounding my favorite 7800 game. I hope @Justin can find more info.
  2. GCC made this game, right? I wonder if everything was documented before the controllers were finalized? Maybe GCC used standard 2600 controllers during game testing.
  3. I also noticed that if you hyperspace 3 times too quick you will lose a ship.
  4. Using down for Hyperspace is documented. Under the GETTING STARTED section number 6.
  5. I minute wasted is another asteroid flying around.
  6. I had it. Grabbed it the first time I spotted it in store. It sucked. I have been using a standard 2600 controller as well because my Europad controller took a dump on me. I can move the ship but no fire buttons work.
  7. Have you guys ever seen this?
  8. I once had an all beige C64. While I liked the machine I hated the keyboard. It felt mushy. And no matter which ST model is owned they all have mushy keyboards. The same with the XE line. After reading that story it makes sense how the ST evolved from the C900. It would make even more sense for those Commodore engineers to bring their hard work with them to Atari. I mean the next machine they was working on was their baby. Why leave it behind? The ST also has that Commodore way of doing things. Nothing really in house designed...everything off the shelf stuff. The Amiga was more like having an XL on steroids. I've never seen an Amiga in person so my thoughts are based on YT gaming videos. I'd like to have one just to experience it.
  9. Outside of playing coop with a friend I have never played this game on any other setting. It was simply put the cart in, turn on the system, start playing. This challenge is fun!
  10. I also love the small sound.effects that randomly sound off. I think it gives a nice touch.
  11. This one is my personal all-time favorite on the 7800. After I got this for Christmas I spent one whole day on the 7800 just playing Asteroids. When I was still in high school a friend of mine spent one whole summer with mom and i. This game we played the most in the coop setting. I have lots of fond memories of this game. I love the little sound effects and looks of the game.
  12. Thank you. I normally don't like to modify my systems because I prefer to keep them as original as possible but it was just an LED and the original one was getting hard to see. I decided to put a color.changing LED in there. Its pretty cool to watch it cycle from red to blue to green to purple and so on.
  13. I thought everyone with Atari stuff knew who penny pinching Jack was. Welcome to Atari I/O @lucca777. I hope you enjoy the site and hope you will join us in some high score challenges we have every month. See ya around the board.
  14. I love my junior model but its power light was very dim which was annoying me. In some worn outdoor decor I found an LED of interest. So, I decided to switch it out and now my Junior model has a neat feature. The power light now cycles through colors and actually goes great with the rainbow on the strip. Kinda neat! In a weird instance changing the LED also seemed to help with interference. The picture is a lot more clear now.
  15. I have not been able to beat my score. 😥
  16. I did it! I beat Gond for the first time ever on the 2600 version! Thanks for the tip! I also improved my score. 37,370.
  17. I refuse to comment on this LOL but I know what you mean. Completely understand.
  18. Same thing happens to me and I'm like, "What did I miss or do wrong?"
