  1. When I played Zelda for the first time I had no idea what I was doing. Nintendo Power was not even a thing when I first played Zelda. The only way you learned where things were was by exploring and word of mouth. It took me a long time, and I mean years, to finally beat LOZ. But it was worth it.
  2. I have been playing Rollerball all day long. I have not seen this game since I rented it in the mid 1990's I believe. I've never found it to buy anywhere in my area or surrounding areas. Even used it was hard to find. I'm very happy to finally have this one.
  3. Jackal is an awesome game! My friend and I spent a lot of weekend nights trying to beat that game. Never beat it. I found a copy once with a bunch if others. Game X Change was holding an NES sale and games were $1.99 each. I bought a NES front loader and a bunch if games which included Jackal. I never seen Roller all though but most of what was on the Classic Mini I found along with Blaster Master and a few others. I saved $20 out if my paycheck for eats on way home and the remaining amount I went all out as much as I could. And that paycheck had overtime and was bill free. I spent a good $250 on just NES and games then. My friend was with me so he helped me game hunt. I should have kept them all. Was Jackal made for the Famicom?
  4. I had to include my newest addition...Rollerball! I can't help myself. I'm having fun.
  5. It's not very often I get to order a game but... ...chalk one up for the FC! I have been hunting this pinball game down for decades. That was the sole reason why I decided to get a Famicom. I figured if I couldn't find a game I was after on the NES then maybe I could on the Famicom. It is so far paying off. However, our eastern friends I think are starting to realize how valuable those old FC games are. Some are really expensive no matter what country they were made for.
  6. I use to be able to get to the boss on the first level...I can't even get close to that now. I'm still trying to beat my personal best so far.
  7. I have Skyrim for 360 but I have not spent much time on it.
  8. I just realized something. I had one NES controller I used for every shump game. I would not be caught without it. I absolutely loved that controller because of the turbo settings. I nabbed one on clearance when the SNES was fixing to be released. I never could find another one. My research turned up ... The Famicom version less headphone jack. I'm going to have to plan to get one someday and see if that helps with these games. I remember that now.
  9. Since we have a Gradius challenge I thought I'd throw this one in. Salamander for the FC. There is one difference between Salamander and Life Force that could affect a score run which is Salamander gives you one Option more than Life Force. But this was my run. I was doing good with one life then died at the start of the third wave and...that was it.
  10. I have been spending time on Clu Clu Land, too. It's an odd game to say the least. Played on Famicom hardware.
  11. I want to get this game for my Famicom. I know it is on the NES Classic Mini but getting it on the Famicom would sort of complete the series as I already have Gradius II and Salamander. Sometimes I've went through that gap and got 5,000 points and other times I got nothing. The boulder suspended just before the volcanos? If you back into it just right without killing yourself you can nab another 5,000.
  12. Imma keep trying. I know old age hasn't hit me this early in the game.
  13. I still haven't been able to get off the first level. I use to be better at this game. Slight score improvement though.
  14. Is the Famicom Gradius different than the NES version?
  15. Well, since it has arrived I have been addicted to this game: I have been having a hard time putting it down. This is Tumble Bugs/Magneto Bugs depending on who released it. This has to be one the few A8 games that has captured my interest. I have managed to complete a maze just once. It took me a while to complete a single maze and I have not been able to since. I did have an A8 800 shortly after getting a 5200 many moons ago. But instead of getting all kinds of games for it I stuck with learning BASIC. That machine is where I learned how to program although I never dug into what the machine was really capable of. Today I'm learning what I missed out on and seeing some games I remember from the 5200. Every piece of software I get that was not on the 5200 is interesting to me and a new adventure. So when this game came along and I couldn't put it down I knew I had found a favorite.
  16. Slight improvement but I'm not as good as I use to be at this game.
  17. I'll start off. I have always enjoyed this game but I was never very good at it.
  18. Motorcross Madness is pretty much Excitebike.
