Ettinsoft
Thanks for the coverage! 😄 Porting to the Atari VCS is certainly going to be a challenge being that the system is geared towards Unity and we're one of the few devs running with Game Maker Studio 2, but we are determined to make this happen! 💪 The VCS community is wonderful so far and has been a lot of help in getting adjusted to Linux, and have been making the learning journey so far much easier to take. So thank you everyone! 😊 (Btw that video above is funny because we actually forgot to hit the record button the first time around and that's us scrambling to get back on track lol) Cryptocoffee13, Smell Dawg, MistaMaddog and 2 others 3
Sabertooth
Welcome to the Club @Ettinsoft! The game looks like a lot of fun and we're happy to help get the word out to our small but mighty VCS community. It's always great to see developers check-in with the community. Feel free to share any updates on your game here as the port progresses. Justin, Ettinsoft, Cryptocoffee13 and 1 other
MistaMaddog
Honestly, this is what I was hoping Berserk: Recharged would be like gameplay-wise...and the killer clowns from (out there) sounds even cooler! 😁 Ettinsoft and Smell Dawg

Ettinsoft
Hey guys 🙂 Its been a little bit since the last update as we've been having lot of trouble with getting the game to run on the Atari VCS and then immediately had A LOT of issues with the gamepad support, all due to the fact that Game Maker Studio has completely stopped caring about the VCS and linux in general. HOWEVER! With a ton of help from Lost Astronaut, another gms2 dev porting his game Apolune 2 to the VCS, we finally got the game not only launching on the VCS but we were also able to build a local server that launches alongside the game to detect the gamepads that we can pull to our game! 😄 So now we can FINALLY get to making the final touches to the port! Some of the adjustments we plan to make: -new rooftop textures to make the graphics more readable -adjustments to difficulty with descriptions as to what each difficulty does -adjustments to character control, as well gameplay feedback (gaining/losing upgrades, finding player on tactical camera mode, and more) -VCS online scoreboards -some new secret stuff 🙊 -And much more! We'll be sharing more on our Ettincast Monday the 26th at 6pm PST, be sure to tune in for more details and some gameplay footage. It shouldnt be long now! Atari VCS here we come! 😆 Edited February 25 by Ettinsoft Sabertooth
Ettinsoft
Had an awesome time with Raskull and ShotgunSean on That Gaming Show last night. Talked about the Circus Interstellar coming to the VCS, showed gameplay using the classic atari gamepad, watched some old alpha footage we found in the depths of our computer, and of course shooting the %!#$& over some cold brewski. 😉 Circus Interstellar is really coming along, I think fans of the original Berzerk will really appreciate a modern take on the classic that doesn't lose the magic we all enjoyed from the OG. We are getting close to the deadline we've given ourselves to hand off the game to Atari for testing, after we square away any feedback we receive from them we will be announcing an official release date. Don't worry, the circus will be invading your VCS soon... 🤡 Chillin' w/ Ettinsoft - That Gaming Show Episode 60 (youtube.com) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mc-fvKY3bq0&t=751s Sabertooth and Justin 1

Sabertooth
Congratulations @Ettinsoft! I know from your videos that it was a lot of work to port this over to the VCS. I will be picking it up! Ettinsoft
Sabertooth
After getting a store issue sorted with Atari, I was able to get into Circus Interstellar this morning. Here are some first impressions: The game makes no bones about its Berzerk inspiration. It has a nearly identical control scheme and options for electrified walls. It also fully commits to the Killer Klowns from Outerspace theme. There are two modes of play, Escape Mode and Cutup Mode. Escape Mode is the story mode and it's easy to play through on the lowest difficulty setting ("Spooky"). Fortunately, you can make the game much more difficult by adjusting settings and turning on those damned walls. Cutup Mode is a wave survival free for all. Lastly, I highly recommend "easy aim." It felt so much better to me personally. Have you grabbed the game. Let us know what you think?! Ettinsoft
