That looks pretty slick!  It looks like a customized 3D printed insert into a standard case.  I'd get one if I was any good with a gamepad, sadly I'm not.

Thanks @RickR - i've actually been on the hunt for a modern replacement solution for the old 'sticks - a second spare pair which i don't expect to last too long

FYI - I have the 7800 gamepad from these guys and it works really nicely.  It has lasted a long time too.  I'd definitely buy again.
