  1. I wonder what Skeletor would have thought about Mumm-Ra? 🤔

      He'd probably be Mes-mummra-ized 💀

  2. I recall back in the day thinking what an amazing idea to have a double-ended game cart, I never got any and were any of the games worthwhile? The dream of course was to have two great games in a single cart but were any of these even as good as having one good single game? 😛🤔
  3. VIDEO DESCRIPTION: Atari was always calculating their next moves. Check out these vintage Atari calculators from the late 1980s and/or early 1990s. This was new to me.
  4. Thanks for that, great reply, I even had a saved login for RVG ! 👍
  5. Well, not me personally trying all the games but I came across this recent video I found interesting. As touched on in my GameBoy thread I was never much of a handheld gamer especially back in the day, mostly consoles and AMIGA computers. Still, of course, I followed everything, if I didn't see it in person I read about it in gaming magazine articles. I don't recall ever personally holding or using any version of the Atari Lynx, it certainly seemed interesting especially compared to other options. I did not know anyone who ever owned one back then either. Over the years I dabbled a tiny bit in emulation of course, watched many videos, and read many articles. It's still somewhat of an oddity to me so this video was of great interest to me, looks like it had some great tiles for sure. I am certainly no authority on the Lynx but I know some love it and some here own and actively collect for it. I do look forward to emulating it more in future since I am not really actively collecting anymore I don't think it's something I want to get into at this point BUT THAT SAID happy to read anyone's own history, opinions, experiences, recommendations etc. regarding the Lynx. 🤷‍♂️😎😁
  6. I "borrowed" this literally identical thread recently created on Atariage as I often do with threads I am enjoying or feel would be appreciated here as well so you might be thinking of that, if it had been done here already recently I don't recall but it's possible, my memory is not the greatest these days. 🤷‍♂️😁
  7. I've no doubt they could, like my own 2600 adaptor for the 5200 which still works as an adaptor as well as a standalone, I don't have the tech knowledge to do it myself but I have definitely seen this done with the ColecoVision add-on as well.
  8. Yeah "sensor touch" was big in the 80's, stereo and other electronics often referred to it as "feather touch" controls, fine for regular on/off button presses not so great for movement generally. That said I have at least one of the controllers shown I think for Genesis but also a similar type controller by SUNCOM for my Colecovision. They definitely take some practice but can be interesting to try depending on the type of game you are playing.
  9. Current Desktop Main PC (Lenovo Legion T5) 😁
  10. This is a topic from elsewhere I thought could work here. Pertaining to all the original 2600 and compatibles from back in the day (Heavy Sixer, 4 Switch, Jr., Sears Telegames Video Arcade etc) this was my reply. I think I love the original heavy Sixer overall though admittedly it is about the only version I don't own so not sure if it's just a "The grass is greener" type thing or not but my light Sixer and 4 switches are nice but there are times I just love my black "Vader" model, it's in such great shape too so that helps. I think about every other original option (Gemini, Jr etc.) just looks kind of cheap but I love them. Now I have something that would probably be considered the ugly duckling or "Crazy Uncle Larry" of the bunch, a 2600 adaptor for the 5200 which has been modded, it can work with the 5200 as designed but also as its own standalone unit with it's own PSU and composite and S-video output, it ain't pretty but a neat novelty for sure.
  11. Oh and FYI THESE are my original carts, not much but a couple of nice titles, I cannot play Japanese Mahjong even if it had an option for English I don't know the game and a couple are GBC but I have the GBA SP to play those.
  12. That looks really nice imho, hope it serves you well. Totally had that and enjoyed it, as well as a very similar-looking Microsoft version, but this one I had for years until I literally wore it out. Today I am using the cheapo generic small keyboard that came with our newer LENOVO Legion Desktop,🤷‍♂️ it's "good enough" as our keyboard space is constrained. Never had anything too fancy or pricey, the previous main desktop now used as a secondary bedroom PC came with more RGB options but I STILL swapped it out with one from a couple of spare Lenovo Business Keyboards my wife got when they upgraded them from her IT job, no flashy lights or anything fancy but good quality well working since they were for the office. As well admittedly besides a couple of mice, I been pretty lucky finding either wireless Logitech mice in our electronics recycling over the years, I assume upgraded but they were still like new so score, missing only the dongles but they synced just fine with the universal Logitech dongle I had from a previous peripherals as they accept several peripherals simultaneously.
  13. Came for the big brunch. Done eating for the day lol. El Dorado resort in the Mission
  14. I fully agree a good selection of pack-in titles would have made a far better impression, always nice to get some good titles to kick off a new pick-up, they probably could have done some focus market testing before selecting the pack-in titles. I think if instead they could of hit it out of the park if the pack in multi cart contained some top tier original beloved games and hey why not one of the better modern homebrews just as a nice gesture? Would have been a great way to justify anyone giving it a chance.
  15. That is awesome, when things improve around here I might have to dig out my original hardware and load up that ROM on my Atarimax Colecovision USB cart! Should probably do some cleaning and maintenance on my Roller Controller as well!
  16. Not sure I will get into any of the modding at this point though it IS amazing the screens that can be swapped in these days.
  17. Looking back on it, I THINK he was more one of those cool edgy SEGA types 😝I am guessing not much of a salesperson either, maybe he was secretly jealous of Nintendo sales.
  18. Amazingly, I never had an original GAMEBOY back in the day. Honestly, one time I came REALLY close, like I went into this small shop near me and even asked to look at one, I knew the popularity of them and of course I had loved my NES. Maybe I was still too impressionable back then but the sales clerk, a young fella but older then me was so Anti-GAMEBOY lol, was like naw man, don't waste your money, it's for little kid this system. Not that I was considering or could afford any alternative at the time but I never reconsidered. Who knows, maybe it was a mistake. No doubt I'd of had plenty of fun with one. Of course years later, getting into retro gaming, revisiting my childhood I see it differently. Never DID get an OG Gameboy, my first was actually a Gameboy Advance SP and over the years from collecting I did happen to obtain THIS little beauty, a GAMEBOY POCKET given to me actually, only have a couple of carts for it though.....
