It's early, but The Cyriss Zeal and I are looking to collaborate in the near future. One obstacle is logistics as he is based on the East coast & three hours ahead of me. But we're hashing out details and hope to make a formal announcement in the near future.

Here's a new feature which I will upload between shows: It's a tournament & scoring challenge recap from the world of retrogaming, including the Club VCS Reloaded Squad Challenge. Picking up from where I left off here a few days ago, along with a little backstory...

I'd love to do a weekly show but I just don't have enough free time. This is why my Twitch show is bi-weekly. One plan was to alternate weeks with Michael Sroka who hosted Settle It On The Screen. He has less free time than I do lol. So it goes, right?

If you watched my most recent show (Episode 84; check it out if you haven't done so 😉 ), then you noticed that I made the "Tournament Roundup" segment a permanent feature going forward. This was borne out of a wonderful idea by a fellow gamer & friend, GibGirl.

So what I will do between shows is create & upload a short video (anywhere from 3-5 minutes) which will provide updates on some scoring challenges & tournaments taking place in the retrogaming community. There are a lot of challenges going on right now: Atari.io Squad Challenge & Club VCS, EverythingC64 (which will restart on July 1), the M.A.M.E. Gaming League (MGL), & AtariAge 2600 High Score Club are just a few examples of that. That's not counting classic arcade gaming tournaments on CAGTournaments.com or the Galaga League. In addition, I was alerted to the #MasterSystemChallenge on Twitter (run by @8BitBoyUK) and the Mameister's High Score Kerfuffle hosted by LondonRetroVideoGames. These are all communities which foster fun retrogaming and welcome gamers from all over the world.

I won't be able to provide updates on everything, hence the goal of a 3-5 minute video. But it will be fun to learn and track what's going on in retrogaming. I'm aiming for either June 29 or July 6 for the first video as the show will not return until July 13. I will share future videos here as well as on my social media accounts (Vimeo, Twitter, Instagram).

Last night's stream was hampered (to put it mildly) by an Unstable bit rate and maybe due to the latest update of Ecamm Live (streaming software for Mac OS). The end result was a lot of audible static. Thankfully, the viewers helped out and stuck around, so we made the most of it.

There will be no replay of last night's show. I'm leaning towards a live show either on Friday or Saturday, but that will be determined by running diagnostics.

I would have posted this in a forum, but which one? Consider: There is a generation of gamers (and probably non-gamers) who have NO IDEA about John Madden, the NFL analyst whose everyman style and extensive knowledge of football  transformed sports broadcasting. Heck, I'm sure the same generation has NO IDEA John Madden won over 100 games in 10 years as the Head Coach of the Oakland Raiders, and did so in an era when the NFL season was only 14 games. (His .759 winning percentage was 2nd all-time when he stepped down as Head Coach.)

Lest we forget the Lite beer commercials!

John Madden Football went from the PC to the Sega Genesis & Super Nintendo to the stratosphere.
